Natasha's pov:
I haven't seen my daughter since she was 6, that's 10 years ago. It's my fault I haven't seen her in so long. The avengers needed me and I couldn't drag her into it all, so one day I just got up and left. I've been keeping tabs on her and making sure she is okay, but that's not enough - I need to go and talk to her.

-

I was waiting outside her school for her, today I was going to bring her back to the compound and talk to her. The bell rang and students began filing out.

She then walked out of the doors. She looked beautiful, older and more mature, but the same as she did all those years ago. When she saw me she stopped in her place and just stared at me. She raised her eyebrow at me and I gave her a small smile.

"Natasha" she greeted me.

Hearing that name broke my heart. I know I didn't deserve the title 'mum' , but it still hurt.

"Y/N please can you come to the compound with me. I need to talk to you." I asked her.

She scoffed and said, "Why would I come with you. You might leave me again!"

Tears clouded my vision and I managed to choke out, "If you come with me then I can explain everything. Please."

Nodding her head at me, we got into the car and made our way to the compound. The car ride was filled with a silence, neither of us daring to say anything in fear of saying things we don't mean.

After what felt like forever, we arrived at the compound and I took Y/N to my office. I sat down opposite her, she didn't make any eye contact. I collected my thoughts for a minute before saying,

"Look I know you hate me and it's perfectly understandable. However I have a reason for leaving. I never told you where I grew up. It was called The Red Room. They did horrible things. I escaped when I was 18 and came to shield. When I joined the avengers, I knew they would come for you if they found out we were related, so I thought it would be better to leave. Let you have a normal childhood and not one where you are worried about people trying to kidnap you. I'm so so sorry. Me and you were super close, you were my everything. You still are. I've been looking out for you these last few years, watching you grow up from afar. I'm so proud of who you have become. You're perfect, and I wouldn't wish for anyone else to be my daughter. If you let me, I want to get the chance to know you. Not the 6 year old girl I once knew, as I know how much you've changed, but you. The 16 year old girl sat in front of me. I love you."

She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and sprung forward into my embrace. "Mum I understand, you did what you had to do. It will take time for you to earn my trust back, but I want to get to know you as well. It's too early for me to say I love you, but hopefully it won't be too long before I can say it."

Authors note
There won't be a part 2 for this as I ran out of ideas. Sorry.
