Scarlett's pov: I woke up to a heavy feeling on my chest. Laughing to myself, I opened my eyes to be met with the sleeping form of my daughter laying on top of me, thumb in her mouth. God she looked so cute.
Slowly, I grabbed my phone and checked the time, it was 8am. Time for us both to get started with the day.
"Y/N sweetie. It's time to wake up." I gently said to her while caressing her face."Mama no." She whined, refusing to open her eyes.
Knowing that she wouldn't wake up, I began tickling her. Usually she loves it, however today, she bolted up and tears began falling from her eyes.
Confused, I pulled her into a hug, whispering comforting words into her ear. Her little arms wrapped around my neck and her head rested on my chest. Even though she is 5, she loves to be carried, and if I'm being honest, I love carrying her. She'll always be my little baby.
I got out of bed and walked downstairs, trying to to trip as Y/N was still attached to me. Maybe she was just hungry and that's why she's cried earlier. Honestly I'm not sure why.
Reaching the kitchen, I leant down to place Y/N on top of the counter so I could make breakfast, as that's where she usually sits so she can watch me. Instead of happily sitting there, she burst into tears for the second time today. "No mama, I'm not sitting there! Don't put me down!" She shouted out through the tears, her grip on my neck tightening.
"Okay. Okay, calm down. Shhh." I gently said to her while rubbing her back, in hopes to get her to stop crying. She buried her head in the crook of my neck as I began making breakfast. Her littles sniffles breaking my heart.

Once we had finished eating and I had cleared away, I took Y/N upstairs so she could have a bath and get changed.
"Come on bubba, it's bath time."
She looked up at me, her big eyes filling with tears. "Y-you stay with me?" she asked.
"Of course my love."
I quickly undressed myself before undressing my daughter, and placing us both in the bath. Her sat on my lap, arms wrapped around my stomach.
Usually she splashes around, but instead today, she just hugs me, keeping me close. I'm not sure what is going on with her, but all I knew is that I have to be there for her. Whatever she needs.

We stayed in the bath for around half an hour, just cuddling and talking, before getting out. I got us both changed into some matching pyjamas as I knew we weren't going to be doing anything today.
I sat in my bed, and Y/N came and laid across my lap. So that she was close to me, but could still see the tv.
"What do you want to watch?" I asked her.
She thought for a moment before replying, "Tangled mama."
This was one of our favourite movies to watch together, as we both knew lots of the words, and all of the songs.

Around half way through the movie, I felt little taps on my arm. I looked down at my daughter to see her looking up at me. Pausing the movie, I asked her. "What's the matter bug?"
She took a deep breath before saying, "I had a nightmare last night mama."
It then all clicked. That's why she didn't want to be put down. She was scared.
"Is that why you've been very cuddly today?" I questioned her, laughing.
"Yes mama. I'm scared."
I couldn't help but coo at how cute she was. "Baby, don't worry. Mama's never going to let anything happen to you. Okay. Do you understand?"
She nodded her head yes and I could see her fighting off sleep. "Go to sleep baby. I'll be here when you wake up."
Slowly, I laid down and placed her on top of me. Her head on my chest, so she could listen to my heartbeat as she fell asleep. Wrapping her arms around me, she let let out a small, "Love you mummy."
I gave her a kiss on the head and replied, "Love you too angel."
With that, she finally let sleep consume her.
