{Part Two: Emerald Tempest} Chapter Twenty-Two: The Interlocking Past II

When the end of the moon arrives, You rise to your feet and prepare for the battle ahead. Seraphine speaks to You along the way.

Seraphine: Here we are... Once again, we have high hopes for a notable battle... I just hope that our attempts to push into Shambhala are successful this time. We've seen so many failures, but maybe things are going to change this time around. I'm hoping for that much, anyways.

Seraphine dissipates soon afterwards, and You start to make your way up to the cardinals' room. When You arrive, You find that Cordelia is the only one there.

Cordelia: Good... I'm glad to see that you're here.

You ask her where everyone else is.

Cordelia: One of the scout groups from today found something interesting, to put it simply.

You question her on what she means by that.

Cordelia: Evenor Hepius... We managed to find her, and she isn't far from the monastery.

Your eyes go wide with surprise.

Cordelia: Everyone else is already going out to try and prepare for the battle against her. I stayed behind here so that I could catch you before we left. And... I have a question to ask you.

You tilt your head to the side in confusion.

Cordelia: Are you ready?

You nod.

Cordelia: I'm glad to hear it. In that case... Let's go out and get some answers.

You start to walk to the front of the monastery while following in her footsteps. Seraphine speaks in the back of your mind.

Seraphine: Evenor... I can't believe that she actually came here to us... I don't know what we're going to find when we see her, but we both know that this is our only option if we want to figure out what's happening.

You say that You are going to find answers at long last today.

Seraphine: I knew you would say that... Now, let's get to it.

Upon your arrival at the front of the monastery, You start to move with the rest of the Knights of Seiros in the direction of the scout group that found Evenor. You eventually find yourself in a somewhat forested area, though much of it is an open field on the border of Empire territory's shared wall with the monastery. You glance around the region carefully, looking for the one that could answer all of your questions.

Cordelia: There she is.

You look in the direction that Cordelia is pointing, and You find that a single figure can be seen through the trees. You recognize it as Evenor immediately, and You slip into a defensive position.

Evenor: It certainly has been a while... Professor.

Cordelia draws her weapon, and You see other troops from the monastery start to gather together from around the area.

Cordelia: I was hoping that we would never see you again in any form but a corpse... But I suppose that this gives us the perfect chance to get answers about what in the world you've been up to all this time.

Evenor: I won't be doing anything for your benefit, Knight Captain.

Cordelia: If you insist on making this difficult for us, then so be it. We'll just have to hit back in our own way. Knights of Seiros, you know what to do! It's time for us to fight!
