{Part Two: Ascendent Star} Chapter Nineteen: In the Past's Name I

When the start of the next moon arrives, You awaken from your slumber and prepare to meet with the leaders of your improvised army in the cardinals' room. Seraphine speaks to You as You get ready for the day.

Seraphine: I wonder what Eli, Quinn, and the rest of the Ashen Wolves found while they were out recently... I suppose there's no way to know but ask.

You say that You hope they will be able to lead You in the right direction to find the truth behind Evenor.

Seraphine: I hope for that too. It's been months since we got here, and it feels like we're not at all any closer to figuring out where she is... We don't have any clues about Janae either, and that doesn't even begin to bring up the archbishop.

You tell her that You intend to find all of them no matter what it takes.

Seraphine: I know. All that's left us for us to see what happens and what Eli knows.

You nod and start up to the cardinals' room. Inside, You find Liram, Morgana, Luciana, Calypso, Cordelia, Reed, Eli, and Quinn all gathered around a map.

Eli: There you are, Professor. It's nice to see you.

Liram: I think that's everyone we wanted to have here. We should get started with talking through everything.

Eli: First and foremost, we've been spending a lot of time trying to learn more about the group that attacked Abyss five years ago.

Quinn: At first, it seemed as if everything had been resolved during the initial attack five years ago, but the more we thought about it, the less likely that seemed.

Cordelia: That would be because of the various attacks Abyss suffered over the course of the months leading up to your departure, yes?

Eli: Precisely. We thought they were trying to get at the Crests we have there, so we decided to take matters into our own hands. It was risky to leave Abyss undefended for so long, but luckily for us...

Morgana: The rest of us wound up coming to the monastery, and we were able to clear it out for you while saving the people who were waiting for help in Abyss.

Quinn: It was a gamble, but I'm glad we took a chance. You've all done more than enough to help the people here in Abyss in our absence.

Calypso: So what comes next? You've spent all this time searching for more information about Evenor and the other attackers on Abyss. How did it lead you to Cyrus and Druilla, and where are we going from here?

Eli: First off, many of the attackers looked a lot like Evenor, Cyrus, and Druilla, so it was easy enough to figure out that they were Agarthan. From there, we just tried to track whoever we could to try and help ourselves and cover our tracks.

Quinn: We found Cyrus and Druilla, but we initially thought the army was Evenor's personal vanguard. She's been moving around a lot recently, seemingly trying to pass on her techniques to others. We thought we would have a nice chance of catching her in the act, but...

Luciana: She's been on the run for years now. She knows better than to end up caught off her guard by all of you, and she left Cyrus and Druilla behind as decoys.

Eli: Unfortunately, yes. Still, we were able to get our hands on one other lead, and I believe we know where that will take us going forward.

Reed: What's this lead of yours then? Is it finally going to lead us to Evenor for real? We've been worried about her for ages now.
