You enter the cardinals' room carefully, knocking on the door as You enter. When the door opens, You find Miriam and Aisa standing inside.
Miriam: Professor, it's good to see you. I'm glad to hear you got the message that we wanted to see you.
You ask why they summoned You to begin with.
Miriam: Let's just say that I managed to catch wind of some unfortunate information, and I think it would be for the best if we did something about it as soon as possible.
You question her on what she is referring to specifically.
Miriam: It's...
Aisa: It would be a human trafficking ring. They have been taking advantage of the war to force people into labor, and since the war is raging on around us... Nobody has been able to stop them.
Miriam: Yeah... Exactly. I'm not going to let that happen though. I'm going to set out and do what I can to take them down here and now.
You ask if they would like You to join them.
Miriam: I was hoping you would. It's your choice to make, but I'm not going to let the people responsible get away with this... It would be a disservice to the victims they've forced to suffer all this time.
You nod and say that You want to come.
Aisa: I am glad to hear that... This journey will take us deep into Faerghus territory.
Miriam: I have no doubt that there are others working with this elsewhere, but for now... This seems like as good a place to start as any.
You ask if there is anything else You need to be aware of before You set out for the upcoming journey.
Aisa: I do not believe so... But it will no doubt be an intense battle.
Miriam: I don't know what's going to be waiting for us at the end of this, but I can say with certainty that it likely won't be what we want to see. I can hardly say I'm surprised given the circumstances, but there isn't much we can do about that now.
Aisa: If you two are ready... I believe the time has come for us to depart.
You nod. From there, You begin your walk to the front of the monastery, and afterward, your trip to Faerghus begins in full...
When You finally stop walking, You are deep within Kingdom territory just as Miriam said You would be. You turn to face her to ask if this is the place.
Miriam: I believe so... Though I suppose only time will be able to say for sure what we find here.
Aisa: This is where your information led you, yes?
Miriam: It is... Apparently, this is a dropoff point for the trade taking place.
You notice a small building far from the eyes of civilization and other settlements, and You say that it is likely the target for the day.
Miriam: I'm willing to assume so as well.
Aisa: There will likely be others with them... The victims.
Miriam: Then we'll just do what we can to protect them. That's what matters most.
You nod at her words though uncertainty begins to root itself in your stomach. You approach the building from there, glancing around as You continue to get closer. You can tell something unfortunate is waiting for You in the shadows, but the details remain elusive. Eventually, You hear a noise, and You realize it came from inside the building.
