While walking through the monastery, You see Chris approaching Hegias. You are about to walk by and leave them be, but when You notice the solemn expression on Chris' face, You cannot help your curiosity. You stop for a brief moment with a frown on your face.
Chris: Hegias... I have a favor to ask you.
Hegias: What is it?
Chris: I... I've heard rumors lately about a few people who were once involved with Evenor's work in the Adrestian palace. I believe that you would know the most about a situation like that, yes?
Hegias: You...You want to know more about the people she was working with?
Chris: I do... And I believe that if anybody is going to have the answers I'm looking for, it would be you.
Hegias: You know... She did work with a few people. She was the one who did most of the experimentation, but there were a couple others who assisted her in her work. I only met them once or twice, and while I didn't know that was what they were doing with her at the time... It feels clear enough to me now.
Chris: Well, I believe I may have found out where they are now. I know that it's not quite the same as tracking her down ourselves, but... I think that a bit of justice is in order.
Hegias: You want to get rid of the people who were involved with experimentation back at the castle all those years ago... That's it, right?
Chris: Precisely... And if anybody is going to be able to help me, it would be you.
Hegias: ...Are you sure you want to do this? I know that it could be dark for both of us.
Chris: I feel like I have to. I have a duty to make everything up to the people that she hurt because she wanted someone like me. She hates me even now, and I... I want to make it up to the people who are no longer here because of everything that happened.
Hegias: Alright... If you're sure this is the best path to follow, you can consider me with you.
Chris: The search has brought me to an abandoned fortress not far from the monastery. I was hoping to find Evenor herself since it's just a matter of time before we'll have to face off against her, but... Any associates of her are still going to be helpful.
Hegias: We don't want anybody who can perform the experimentation like that alive anymore... That's what you mean, right?
Chris: Precisely. I know that it's a somewhat dark way of looking at the world, but...
Hegias: You don't need to explain yourself to me. I know what your connection to her is like, and... I know that you're right.
Chris: Are you sure you want to do this? I would be more than content going on my own if I had to.
Hegias: No... Evenor was my burden, and I'm not going to leave you to handle it alone. I'm going to tell everybody else to get ready for a fight. This isn't going to be easy.
Chris: Why don't you start by asking the professor for advice?
You perk up at being spoken to, and You apologize if You intruded on their conversation.
Chris: You have nothing to be sorry for. You were going to have to get involved with this sooner or later, and I'm not going to fault you for that. Now... What do you say to helping us to get rid of any lingering traces of Evenor's past?
After a moment of hesitation, You nod and say that You would like to come.
Chris: Perfect. We'll leave within the hour. I'll go tell the others to get ready for our journey.
