August

"I still can't believe baby Aug is having a baby." She smiled.

Shaking my head at her excitement, Chandra and my nieces seemed very receptive to the news. Here to bring in the new year as a family, I was happy to have my nieces most of all.

"Best believe."

"That little boy is going to be spoilt." She snickered.

"I mean, he is my first." I laughed. "But I ain't gonna go crazy to make him feel entitled to things."

"Good. Now, how did momma take it?"

"That was a whole other shit by itself." I shook my head. "But it's been settled."

"Okay good."

"Yeah."

"But I'm happy for you baby bro. I know you've always wanted a family of your own and I like Chrysta for you. Since y'all have been friends, I've seen this light in you that's just so bright. I don't know what y'all waiting on though."

"I'm waiting on her. When she's ready and comfortable, we'll be together. Till then, I'm good with what we got and our son."

"They grow up so fast." She fake cried

Patting me on my shoulder, we both then began to laugh. Asking her how things been with her and the girls, she expressed what's been going on with Chaylin specifically. Sighing, I assured her that I'd talk to her.

Fixing her and myself a plate, as we walked into the family room, the sound of my front door opening was heard. Knowing it was Chrysta and Shanice, they made their presence known, coming into the family room.

"How was y'all walk?" I asked as she sat next to me.

"Refreshing." She smiled.

"Her grown ass was in the park on that swing like a six year old." Shanice shook her head.

"Like if yuh wasn't on the one next to me swinging away." She shot back.

Chuckling at their back and forth, I then asked Chrysta if she wanted anything to eat. Letting me know she'll fix something in a bit, she smiled.

"What time are your friends coming over?"

"Probably around ten."

"Okay."

"Why wassup?"

"I need a nap." She laughed.

"Oh right."

"You know I'm old. I need a nap to be able to socialize." She joked.

"Shit, I wish it worked like that for me."

"Y'all are a mess." We heard Shanice say. "Both of y'all don't like socializing, just imagine how my Godson is going to be."

"God I hope he'on like being around people either." I mumbled.

"Same. That would be hell for us." Chrysta shuddered.

"Allyuh sickening." Shanice said as she got up.

"What?" We both asked as she walked off.

"I mean, he'll interact and stuff but."

"But he'll also like his own company." I finished her sentence.

"Exactly. I don't want my baby being too friendly."

"Right." I agreed. "You spoke to your parents today?"

"I did. My mother is excited for when I get home."

"And your dad?"

"He is too. He's happy he's getting a grandson."
