Happy Birthday to me!

Twenty six and eight months pregnant and I'm honestly the happiest I've been in a while. I never saw this life for me but I believe I'm living the one God intended.

The last two months had been an interesting period. Between my body, both internally and externally changing, and living with Aug things were certainly different. We clashed often as it has been a huge culture shift for him and though he tried, I knew at times he was frustrated.

Reaching this far in my pregnancy, I was proud of myself. My son was healthy and I hoped that with him being this calm, it would remain when he gets here. We had basically gotten all that we needed as well as set up the baby's room here. It was interesting because we hadn't even talked about living arrangements but I figured it was coming as I'd be leaving soon.

"Baybeh?"

"Mmmm." I looked up.

"You ready?"

"Just about." I smiled as I closed my journal.

Sliding off the bed, I put away my journal and went for my slides, realizing he had them already.

"You know I got you." He smirked.

"Thank you love." I smiled before tip toeing and kissing him.

I wasn't sure what or where we were going but I was just going with it. Fixing my feet in my slides, I adjusted my dress then left.

"You'on need to pee right?"

"Umm." I paused as he laughed. "No." I smiled.

"Okay good."

"How are we getting where we're going?"

"RideShare." He smirked.

"Look at you."

Same time I said that, my phone rang. Answering it was the driver letting us know he was out front. Locking up, I took my time as I waddled to the car and got in. Once Aug was in, we left. Staring out the window, as I usually did, I flinched as he held my hand unexpectedly. Looking at him, I smiled as did he. Just as I was about to look back out the window, I noticed the driver looking at Aug in the rear view mirror. Making eye contact, he gave me this look as though to say he knew who Aug was.

"I'm surprised you ain't asked where we're going?" Aug broke the silence.

"I'm not feeling to be difficult today." I joked.

"So you admit that you be difficult for no reason?"

"Sometimes."

"Most times you mean." He nudged me.

"Meh." I giggled.

Becoming silent once again, I exhaled and relaxed while gently massaging my belly. After what seemed like a somewhat of a long drive, we pulled up at a place I knew all too well.

"The Chocolate Bar babe?" I smiled.

After he paid, he got out and made his way around to help me out.

"Is it really him?" The driver asked quickly.

"Yes, and please keep."

"Allyuh safe, doh worry."

Taking Aug's hand, I got out and stretched, then fixed my clothes before we walked in. Entering, the hostess greeted us.

"Now, I need to put this on you." She held a sleeping mask.
