"So what about this one?"

Showing Kevin the portfolio, he nodded in acceptance to what he was reading.

Sitting in my favorite food place in Atlanta, we were out here while Aug was dealing with some business. With my mother being in California, I took the opportunity to meet up with Kevin to continue the search for a surrogate. February was coming to an end, we were keeping hope that he would find someone.

"She seems good. Who knows, she might be lucky number seven." He exhaled.

We had met with six other persons and for some reason he didn't like any one of them after meeting in person. I wasn't mad though, this is a big decision for him to make so I was just going along, being the supportive friend that I am.

"That's true."

Being there as moral support and common ground, what stood out the most was the fact that as they realized it was him, their asking price rose significantly and one thing I wasn't going to allow was him being extorted.

"Alright, enough of that, you hungry?" He asked.

"Starving." I laughed.

Signaling to the hostess, we got two menus and placed our orders.

"You never told me what your mom said about all of this?"

"She's supportive, the whole family is actually."

"That's great."

"Yeah. I know she been wanting a grandchild from me." He chuckled. "And you know how much she loved Alana so this is her wish coming through."

"That's great. I'm excited for you." I laughed.

"I know you are." He laughed. "Celeste will get a buddy."

"That she will."

"How are you managing without her though?"

"I'm dying inside, being away from both of my babies but, I happy for the break as well."

"Yeah?"

"Mhmm." I nodded as I sipped on my water. "I'm think about staying permanently too."

"Oh word?"

"Yeah. I don't want to be going back and forth with two children. With one is one thing, it was manageable but not two, that's too much."

"You told Aug yet?"

"We've spoken about it but to say I've come to a decision, not yet."

"He's gonna be happy as fuck." He laughed.

"Oh I know. He's been so supportive all this time and I love him so much for that but it's time for me to stop being selfish and make the move."

"Selfish?"

"Yeah and a bit scared." I let out a nervous laugh.

"Why?"

"I mean, I've worked hard for what I've built back home, so to pack up and just leave it, I didn't want to and plus to do that was a big decision."

"You're right."

"The transition I was able to get with working remotely has helped significantly and brought me to this point."

"Well that's good."

As we conversed some more, our food came. While we ate, my husband showed up to join us. As the waitress took his order, being himself, he ate from me.
