Chrysta

"You really like this place huh?"

"Yes I do." I smiled as I looked over the menu.

Kevin and I were having lunch at Atlanta's breakfast club and at this point, I had become a regular within a month.

"You've had everything on this menu haven't you?"

"No I haven't. I don't be here so often." I partially lied.

"Chrysta, hi." The waitress greeted me. Same time Kevin looked at me with a raised brow. "And our favorite baby boy." She playfully tickled his chin.

"You don't come often huh?" Kevin mumbled.

"Oh hush."

"So what are we having today? The usual?" She asked me.

"Nah. I think I'll have the Trio along with the P-Biscuits and."

"Two apple juice and a water." She finished.

"Thank you." I smiled.

Taking Kevin's order, she then left us, bringing back our drinks shortly after.

"Just a damn shame." He shook his head.

"What?"

"That girl knows you by your name and your son by association."

"And? The workers here are so pleasant and nice." I attempted to avoid eye contact.

"Like I said, just a damn shame."

"Whatever." I laughed making him laugh. "What's the latest with you and your friend?"

"What friend?"

"The girl you came in with last month."

"Oh. Monica? We cool."

"Just cool?"

"Yeah. I don't think anything will come from that."

"Why you say that?"

"She's great to be around but we both live different lives."

"Ah okay."

"And funny enough, we are both opposites. She likes the nightlife, I'm a more chill dude. We've spoken about it and can't seem to compromise so we decided to be friends."

"Compromise?"

"Yeah. I told her, even though I'm a deejay, if I have a club set, I just go, do that and leave."

"She's a partier?"

"Yup and that ain't really my vibe so much. I don't mind chilling having a couple drinks but most times, I like my home."

"As you should." I agreed. "If you're not comfortable at home, then something's wrong."

"Mhmm. Speaking of home. You ready to head back?"

"I am." I nodded. "Though I'll be getting back to work as I reach."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I get in the Saturday, I basically have Sunday to organize and then it's back to work on Monday."

"What about little man there?"

"My mom will be watching him while I work. Aug's suppose to come out there but I'm not sure when exactly."

"Oh, okay."

"I don't like how you said that." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Like what?"
