"I can't believe you've kept this from me for so long." Shanice laughed.

"Nothing personal, we just wanted it to be us. You, Kevin and Terrance are godparents."

"Keeping it same?"

"Yeah, I mean, aside from our parents, y'all are the ones we really trust where their lives are concerned."

"Even Sheila?"

"Yes. Regardless of the nonexistent relationship we may have, she loves August and I know she'll love our daughter when she sees her."

"Doing the thirty days?"

"Mhmm. She's been active throughout this entire pregnancy so I just want that time to get to know her and get her in a routine."

"I understand."

"Thank you, I appreciate it. I know she isn't going to be like August, I can just feel it."

"She's going to have y'all busy." Shanice laughed. "But y'all got this."

"That we do. We have all that we need and I know my mom will get on a flight as soon as she finds out."

"You know she will."

"How are you and my loves doing though?"

"Tuh! Your loves are pains in my ass." She rolled her eyes. "I don't know what I did for God to give me a daughter who is daddy struck and a husband who loves nothing better."

"He knows she'll be good, that's why."

"Yeah well she is literally a mini him but I love them all the same."

"I know that's right."

As we continued our conversation, August came in with something for me to eat. Chatting with his Godmother, I just smiled at their interaction. For these past seven years, his bond with his Godparents were incredibly. Each one of them interacted with him in their own way and he was receptive to it.

"Anyway Chrys, let me go make something to eat before them two come home and run a mock."

"Okay babe." I laughed.

Ending the call, I finished eating while August just walked around, examining things, like always.

"Anything I can help you with?"

"No mommy." He looked back and smiled at me.

"You ready for your little sister to get here?"

"Mhmm. Will she be sleeping in here with y'all?"

"For the first month, yes. Just like we did with you."

"How come?"

"Because..." I patted beside me for him to come sit. "As much as we would have loved to have you and even her with us for longer, boundaries are important especially where possible unhealthy habit forming situations are concerned."

"Oh okay." He nodded.

"Also, you spent full term in me and hopefully baby girl does the same but mommy needed her space and sanity back." I tickled him. "Once she's in a routine, sleeping in her room would be easy."

"Okay." He smiled.

"This whea you at." We heard.

Putting our attention on the bedroom door, Aug stood there smiling.
