August

"You need anything?"

"I'm good. I still have money from what you gave me."

"My financially smart girl." I joked.

"Hey, it's how I was raised." She smiled.

"What you going to buy?"

"Something to wear tonight. I have to look good for our anniversary."

"You look good all the time."

"Awe babe." She blushed.

"One fine ass gypsy."

"Yuh know what?" She glared at me.

"Nah I don't know what."

"Shut up." She tried not to laugh.

Unable to keep it in, she began laughing. Doing the same, I enjoyed the conversation with my girl as my son slept besides me.

"What time did he fall asleep?"

"About half an hour ago."

"If he sleeps late, he'll be up tonight for sure."

"The way these girls be with him, I'm sure they won't mind."

"True. Anyway babe, we're leaving now. I'll see you later."

"Aight ma. Y'all be safe."

"Thank you babe."

Though she was still staying with her parents, I still had my time with my son, allowing her time to just relax and do what she wants to do.

These past six days been crazy. From social media speculations moving from me being in a relationship to fans circulating the picture my mother posted saying it's my son, it was a lot and this was one of the reasons why Chrys and I wanted our privacy.

"Your grandma fucked up everything." I sighed as I looked at him.

One thing though, when he was here, I respected Chrysta's wishes where my mother was concerned and me personally not speaking to her, made it easier. I was honestly disappointed though I was yet to confront her.

"Aug?"

"Yo? It's open."

Putting my attention on the doorway, my sister came walking in.

"Wassup?"

"Do you know what's going on with Chaylin? She's been quiet some days now and she's even giving momma the cold shoulder."

"Chaylin is a teen, you gotta ask her that."

"Okay, attitude much?"

"You asked a question, I gave you an answer sis. Ain't no attitude."

"Okay."

"Now go head and ask me what you really came to ask me."

"What's that?"

"You tell me." I looked at her as I got up.

"Fine. You really keeping momma away from her grandson?"

"Man." I smacked my lips.

"Come on Aug. You know momma lives for her grand babies."

"That ain't got anything to do with me. She disrespected the mother of my child and our relationship. Chrys was right when she said you can't be joking about using voodoo on a person while being around their kid. That shit ain't funny. That some reckless shit to think, let alone to say."
