The night's shadows made Mo Yunchu's face appear profound, exceptionally handsome to the point of almost unreal perfection. Tang Ning, momentarily lost in astonishment, found his core again when he confirmed Mo Yunchu's presence.

A surge of confidence replaced any fear or unease, and he couldn't help but feel a slight warmth in his nose, as if a bullied child had found a refuge.

Mo Yunchu was here! Everything was fine now!

"Why did you take so long to come back?" Tang Ning unconsciously elongated his tone, a blend of reproach and coquetry. Over these days, Tang Ning might not have learned much else, but subconsciously, he keenly grasped Mo Yunchu's favorite demeanor—

The tenderness resembling a buttercup's attachment.

Mo Yunchu embraced Tang Ning, whose body had turned cold from the scare. With pity, he gently stroked the back of his neck, whispering, "I'm sorry, did I make Little Ning wait too long?"

Tang Ning closed his eyes, avoiding direct eye contact with Mo Yunchu, allowing himself to lie shamelessly, "Yes, it felt like forever. I missed you so much that I couldn't help but wait at the door."

"When it gets unbearable, I eat a piece of candy."

Tang Ning turned his head, pressing his cheek against Mo Yunchu's chest. His long lashes trembled slightly as he mustered the courage to look at the candy scattered at the doorstep.

On the colorful candy wrappers lay a tattered, old rag doll.

Tang Ning immediately closed his eyes, holding Mo Yunchu tightly, as if the embrace had spontaneously happened in the midst of sweet words.

A low, muffled chuckle came from above, "I was about to warn you, Little Ning, eating so much candy will give you cavities. Now, it seems I'm the one getting a toothache from the sweetness."

Mo Yunchu lowered his head, burying his high nose into the nape of Tang Ning's neck, gently caressing the silky skin. He softly said, "I missed you so much."

"Every minute I couldn't see you, I was thinking about you."

In contrast to Tang Ning's insincere words, every syllable from Mo Yunchu seemed genuinely pulled from the depths of his heart. The fiery emotions tinted Tang Ning's earlobes with a faint blush.

Tang Ning couldn't help but feel ashamed of his own hypocrisy.

"I wish I could shrink Little Ning to the size of my palm, carry you in my pocket." His embrace tightened with each confessed emotion, his strong hands holding onto Tang Ning's slender waist, as if wanting to merge their flesh and blood.

Tang's waist felt like it was about to break. Due to the pain, he slightly furrowed his brows but hesitated to push Mo Yunchu away. Instead, he bit his lower lip, enduring both the prolonged pain and the lingering affection from Mo Yunchu's embrace.

"After finishing this film, I plan to retire from the industry so I can be with Little Ning forever."

Mo Yunchu gently inquired, "What do you think? Is that okay with you?"

Retire? Retire from the industry?!

Tang Ning looked confused, realizing he might have gone too far with his sweet talk. Deceiving someone's feelings was already too much, interfering with someone's career was asking for trouble!

"That might not be a good idea." Tang Ning hurriedly responded, "I prefer seeing you on the big screen."

He genuinely liked Mo Yunchu's appearance on the big screen, breathing life and soul into a character, overshadowing all other actors, making Tang Ning see only Mo Yunchu, dazzled and enchanted.
