Chapter 87 | A Normal Family Night

Bryan's POV

For once, everyone in the house had a night where we could just hang out as a family.

A few of the guards had been difficult all day cause the kids just wanted to play outside, but the guards deemed it as dangerous for no reasons.

I was going to yell at them, but Inpu and Crystal easily dealt with it.

It probably helped that both of them were violently Egyptian when they were mad, so if the guards heard either of them start yelling in Egyptian, they'd stop whatever they were doing.

They were just dealing with the guards outside while I was sitting in the room with the other four.

The triplets were working on completing a videogame together while Artemis and I were watching a movie.

"Papa, when will we be allowed to have a normal night again?" [Artemis]

"What do you mean by that, Arti?" [Bryan]

"You and dad are constantly busy, when can we have a night where we're all just home and we can watch a movie like I could when I was little" [Artemis]

"Yeah, now that he mentions it, I miss when we could do that" [Femi]

"Soon, kids, I promise as soon as this is over, both dad and I will take a week off and we can have a week filled with days we used to when you guys were little" [Bryan]

"Why can't we just get this over with now? Is dad's current job really that important?" [Lotus]

"Look, guys, we don't tell you a lot because its dangerous stuff, all you guys need to worry about is listening to what we say until its resolved, then everything will be fine" [Bryan]

"But dad is in the mafia, how do we know it'll stay fine?" [Atlas]

"Simple, we don't, but our system works really well so we aren't worried about if we have to put it back in the future again" [Bryan]

"Can't we just do what we did when we were little and pretend it doesn't exist every few days?" [Artemis]

"Its not that easy, bud, with everything going on, we can't just pretend it doesn't exist, that's how we get hurt even more" [Bryan]

"Do you ever get scared?" [Artemis]

"I'd be lying if I said no, I fear for all of us ever night, every night I check the security cameras, every night I make sure the security system is working, every night I make sure you guys are in your rooms with the windows locked just in case" [Bryan]

"Does dad make sure you're safe?" [Artemis]

"To my knowledge yes" [Bryan]

Artemis was clearly going to ask another question, but Crystal and Inpu walked in soon after and both seemed pissed.

Both of them were speaking Egyptian to each other, but Crystal seemed calmer, so it was probably more her just trying to calm down her other father.

I followed them into the kitchen since I had to start preparing dinner.

As I was taking out what I needed to cook, I felt Inpu start to grab my waist, so I decided to act like he was in trouble.

"Bryan~ why are you doing this~" [Inpu]

"If you are going to come into the house yelling in Egyptian, I won't speak to you until you're clearly calm" [Bryan]

"Well, if you're really that mad, I can always make it up to you in bed~" [Inpu]

I heard four of the five let our a large groan of disgust upon hearing that which made me laugh a bit.

"What are they talking about?" [Artemis]

"Don't worry about it Arti" [Crystal]

"But what do they mean? Are they just going to share the bed? They normally do that" [Artemis]

"What they mean, Artemis, is that they're going to be loud tonight" [Atlas]

"Good loud or bad loud?" [Artemis]

"Better question, why does Artemis understand good or bad loud at night?" [Bryan]

"Atlas and his boyfriend had to teach me the difference" [Artemis]

"Atlas Nico Rosewood Tombstone!" [Inpu]

"Atlas run, dad used your full name" [Crystal]

We heard shuffling in the next room where Atlas was before he ran up to his room.

"Alright, Crystal, you know the gossip, when did Atlas get a boyfriend and have they actually slept together?" [Bryan]

"I unfortunately have the answer to that, Atlas started to date my friend Flyn a few weeks ago, I believe they slept together while you were having date night last week" [Crystal]

"Do I want to know why Artemis heard them?" [Inpu]

"Probably not" [Crystal]

"Note to self, have the talk with Atlas next chance we get" [Bryan]

"That'll be a fun conversation to have" [Inpu]

"I'm surprised I managed to get out of the talk" [Crystal]

"You know its because you know a lot weirder things, plus you're almost an adult, I don't think its needed for you anymore" [Bryan]

I finished making dinner not long after and put it in the fridge so we could each eat on our own time.

Eventually, I realized I had a few things I had to go pick up, so Inpu decided to go with me so we left Crystal in charge while we went out.

The car ride was fairly calm, but my mind began to fill with questions relating to the kids.

"So do you want to talk about what we found out about our oldest son?"

"Not really, can't say I didn't expect it, but I wish he did hide his private activities from his siblings"

"Yeah, that isn't exactly smart of him, but at least he isn't getting into any drugs or anything else like that" 

"Still, he's too young to be sleeping with someone"

"The kid is 15, it was going to happen one day, he's at least at an expected age"

"Still, you were able to hold out for years, why can't he?"

"I also only had one boyfriend in high school and didn't trust anyone seeing my body for years"

"Yet you still held out until we were dating for what, four months maybe?"

"Six at most, we also did it when we got engaged"

"This discussion is so damn funny"

"What makes you say that?"

"Simple, we're having conversations normal parents would have, yet neither of us are normal"

"Yeah, just makes you think, doesn't it?"

We continued to talk about random topics that normal parents would be worrying about.

Once we got home, we just went to hang out with the kids and continue our night.
