I let my feet take me away from his sight, proceeding to the canteen but he's too hard headed and unstoppable.
He walks beside me, "What are we going to eat?"
"We?!"
"Yeah. You and Me."
"As far as I know, it's only ME. So stop following me!"
"But I want to eat too!"
"Can you just gimme some alone time?"
"What? Hey, you don't own the canteen. Everyone's welcome there. And what are you talking about? Alone time? I'm not with you last night and this morning you wake up and the moment y—"
"Okay! Okay! Alright! Just shut it Mendes."
"Wrong nickname."
"Jerk ball."

Out of my expectations, he grabs my hand and locked his fingers around the gaps of mine.
"What are you doing!?"
"Shut up. She's coming this way."
"Who?!"
He didn't speak, he acts so sweet, "Where'd you want to go later love cake? Wanna go shopping or.. no, let's just watch movies and cuddle all night long." He says pretty loud.

Everyone's in shock with what they saw and heard. The hottest guy in campus, holding my hand and telling me to cuddle with him all night makes some of them furious.

We walk past his ex, who is very angry and jealous of what she heard and saw.
I looked back to reassure it was really her.
She has stopped walking for a second and just stared deadly at me.

That very moment when I saw her eyes burning, I know I'm IN.
In for every move in this stupid little role playing game.

"She stares at me Shawn!"
"Let her be. That's all she can do. Staring and cheating."
"B-But—"
"Stuttering again love cake?"
"But she's so mad at me."
"No, she's not mad at you. She's mad at me because she thought I won't do the same thing."
"You guys are sick!"
"No, only her.."
This would be my first time having his big hand locked with mine.
I looked down on our hands, he glances at me and laughs, "Don't worry, holding your hand and you, holding mine won't be the last time."
I did not argue.

We got to the canteen with his hand still wrapped to mine.
Everyone stares and somehow, the noise decreases.
I quickly pull and free my hand off from his grip.

"Go find some unoccupied seat love cake."
For a while, I did not complain. I didn't fight and it was amazing.

I left him standing alone in the crowd.
