twins are sixteen years of age; aiden is not alive

"Happy 16th Anniversary baby," Archer hummed lowly into Irene's mouth as he gave her a slow, yet blissful good morning kiss that made her toes curl. Irene moaned in content, wrapping her arms around her beautiful mate and kissed him slowly back.

For the sixteenth anniversary, Archer had surprised her with a trip to Hawaii. A beautiful island that Irene couldn't help but cry over. Now, three days after arriving, they were spending their two weeks on a blissful holiday, almost like a dream. Their two kids were back in the pack, training without their parents breathing down their backs, and they loved the silence in the little hut they owned.

"Happy Anniversary Archer," she whispered out as they pulled away, Archer beamed brightly and looked down at his beautiful mate. After all these years, Irene still wore her grey hair that she still rocked amazingly and he couldn't help but stare at her beauty.

"You're beautiful, you know that?" he muttered in her ear, kissing her earlobe before using his arms to hold himself up, making sure not to crush Irene with his body weight. He laid in between the legs that were wrapped around him, which pulled him closer as he admired his mate. Irene felt the familiar heat of a blush peak more through cheeks, sixteen years did not make her feel any less for Archer, nor was she prepared for most of his compliments.

"You always say that to me," she murmured, her arms wrapped around his bare torso, feeling the ridges of his back. He hummed in satisfaction as her touch sparked something within him. Of course, her heat was coming, he could smell it from a mile away and was very excited, to say the least. Her heat had not come in two years, unfortunately for him, the past fourteen years he had to wear protection every time she went into heat. The twins were already enough to handle, for those sixteen years. Now, he had planned everything out to the last detail, forgetting to protection was one thing and not telling Irene that her heat was coming so she forgot birth control or to buy one when they went to the store the other day.

He smirked victoriously to himself, he had been pressing for another baby for years and she kept telling him off, saying their family was perfect enough. But, he wanted a little soccer team, and two was just not enough. He missed carrying his children to bed, they were ready to have another one.

"Why are you smirking?" Irene asked hoarsely, to her it felt like it was early in the morning, jet lag was prominent in their sleeping patterns when really it was ten o'clock. She felt and heard Archer's raspy chuckle as the vibrations went to her chest. She felt warm all over.

"Nothing baby, nothing at all," he said with a tone of mischief. Irene eyed him suspiciously, not knowing what he was up to, but one look at his innocent face made her plant her lips against his once more.

Of course, Archer wasn't going to not kiss her back.

Irene's heat was unexpected to her than it was to a devious planning Archer. They were sitting in their hut laying in bed when it had hit her like a tornado. At first, she thought she was coming down with something her forehead gathered at up sweat and her entire body became alight within a matter of minutes, it wasn't until the first wave of the heat attacked her and she winced out in pain.
