"I won't be able to figure you out?" Sherlock asked.
"That is what I said, Sherlock. You won't be able to figure me out. No one, is able to figure me out. Many have tried, many have failed" I said.
"I'll take that as a challenge then" Sherlock said.
"Of course you will. That's the type of person you are, isn't it? You take things as a challenge, especially when people tell you they are impossible, and oh, of course you go looking for danger." I said.
"How would you know that? Not that I'm admitting that you are correct" Sherlock said.
"But, dear Sherlock, you just did admit it" I said.
"No I didn't" Sherlock said
"Yeah, you did" I insisted.
"No, I didn't" Sherlock persisted, shaking his head. I could tell that this was slightly agitating to him.
"Alright, whatever you say. Where are you headed anyways?" I inquired.
"A case. Apparently there has been serial killings." Sherlock said.
My face lit up. Although, I did try to hide it at first.
"Exciting, isn't it?" Sherlock said.
I nodded my head. "Yeah, it kind of is to be honest. It's interesting, figuring out their motives, what the victims have in common, how each person has a certain, sort of signature to what they do" I said.
"You find them intriguing as well?" Sherlock asked.
"Yes, I do." I said.
"Well, you could come along if you'd like, it would be nice to have an intellectual equal around." Sherlock said.
"Ouch" The man next to him said.
"Right, this is my friend, and colleague, John Watson" Sherlock said.
"Nice to meet you. Army doctor, I assume. Did you serve in Afghanistan or Iraq?" I asked.
"Afghanistan. How did you two know that?" John asked.
"I'm good at deducing people" I said.
"Alright. Moving on. Would you like to come with us on the case or not?" Sherlock asked.
"I would enjoy that, yes" I said.
Time skip, I'm lazy
Sherlock, John, and I were all in his flat. Sherlock was standing up, playing the violin, apparently it helps him think. John was sitting in a chair, drinking a cup of tea.
I, on the other hand, was sitting on the floor, like a child, the entire case file spread out in front of me. From information about all the victims, to crime scene photos.
I stared at the photos, trying desperately to find any similarities. Of course, the most obvious similarity had passed me by. They were all females, and by the looks of it, they were all in their late twenties to early thirties. Same age range.
"Sherlock, I may have an absolutely insane idea." I said.
"What is it?" Sherlock asked.
I put all of the stuff back in the folder, picked it up, and set it on the table before standing up.
"I found one similarity between the victims. An obvious one, I don't know how I was stupid enough to let it pass me by in the first place." I said.
Sherlock stopped playing the violin. He set it down. "What? What is the similarity?" Sherlock asked.
"They're all females. More specifically, all females in they're late twenties to early thirties." I said.
"What are you suggesting?" Sherlock asked.
"How to catch the serial killer" I said.
"What do you mean?" Sherlock asked.
"We lure him out, with me as bait" I said.
