Chase - lab rats

I was walking out of science class when I bumped into someone, accidentally knocking them to the ground.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry" I said holding out my hand for him to take.

"It's fine" He said grabbing onto my hand in order to get up.

"Im so sorry, I should've been watching where I was going, I'm such a clutz sometimes, then things like this happen, and wow, I'm talking to much" I said chuckling lightly.

"It's alright. I'm Chase by the way." He said

"I'm y/n, nice to meet you. Sorry again for bumping into you, are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm good" Chase said with a small smile.

"Alright, well we should get to the cafeteria before lunch is over." I said.

"Good idea. Wanna maybe walk together?" Chase asked me.

I could sense some nervousness in his voice. "Is he getting nervous around me?" I wondered to myself. I shook it off figuring it was probably something else.

"Uh, yeah sure" I said with a small smile as we headed to the cafeteria.

We arrived at the cafeteria and he opened the door for me.

I smiled slightly and walked inside, Chase following behind me.

We walked over to the lunch line and grabbed our trays and stood in line waiting for our turn.

Last day of school

"I'm really not gonna miss this place that much" I said chuckling lightly.

"I will, for a couple reasons" Chase said with a small smile.

"Why?" I asked with a confused look on my face.

"For one, I like learning, and for second, you" Chase said.

I smiled.
"You do know I live like, a block away from you right?" I asked.

"That's a fair point, but still. I'll miss seeing you every day." Chase said.

"Well, just so you know, my parents agree that you are welcome over anytime, just as long as you text first so we have a heads up." I said.

Chase nodded.
"Good to know. I might come over sometimes so we can just hang out, maybe watch some movies" Chase told me.

"Okay, um, there is something I have to tell you" I said.

"What?" Chase asked me with curiosity in his voice.

"I- I like you. Like, not as a friend, but as more, like wanna date you kind of like." I said.

Chase had a large smile on his face. At first I was confused. I wondered if he felt the same way, but I wasn't entirely sure what to think.

"What?" I asked confused.

"I really like you too, in the same way." Chase told me.

I had a big smile on my face.
"I, didn't see that coming. So, maybe we could go do something sometime, maybe go see a movie?" I asked.

"Yeah, I would like that." Chase said.

I smiled.
"Good, because so would I." I said.

Chase leaned toward me and placed a soft kiss on my lips then pulled away.

"I've been wanting to do that" Chase said.

I smiled.
"Yeah. Me too. So, see you Friday around 6pm?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure" Chase said as we walked out of the school and headed home.
