I woke up. I was thankful because it was Saturday. Meaning, thank God, no school. It was 12 in the afternoon and Peter and I were meeting up for lunch at 12:30.
I had made the plans a couple of days ago, when I was actually feeling up to being social. Today, not so much. But, hey, it's just Peter. So, I won't be to drained afterwards.
I got up out of bed and walked over to my closet. "What to wear?" I asked as I searched through my closet. Didn't want to look to lazy, but I also didn't want to look overly fancy either.
"This'll do." I said grabbing a pair of jeans and a nice shirt. I got dressed.

I walked out of my room.
"Bye mom, I'm headed to lunch with Peter" I said walking to the front door.
"Okay, be safe." My mom said before she continued to do whatever she was doing on her laptop.
"I will." I said opening the door and heading out.
The place we were going to meet is only a couple of blocks away so I just decided to walk. "Today's the day. I'll tell him how I feel today." I thought to myself. I wondered what would happen if he didn't feel the same, but, what's life, without some risk?
I reached the place. I opened the door and walked in. I saw that Peter was already there, sitting at a table waiting for me. I checked my phone to make sure I wasn't late. No, 12:25. I guess I was early, just he was earlier.
I walked over to the table and sat down.
"Hey." Peter said with a small smile.
"Hi" I said.
"How are you doing?" Peter asked.
"Alright I guess. The day just started, so we'll see. What about you?" I asked.
"I'm good. Especially now that you're here." Peter said with a smile.
I could feel my cheeks turn pink. I smiled widely before looking at my phone again. I put the phone away when the waiter walked over.
We ordered our drinks and then the waiter walked off to get them. The both of us ordered a lemonade.
We sat there for a couple of minutes before the waiter came back over with our drinks. He set them down in front of us and asked if we were ready to order.
Peter nodded. I nodded my head as well. We ordered our food. Once the waiter wrote down the orders he walked off.
I took a sip of my lemonade. I said I would tell him how I feel today, I mean, I've known him for most of my life. So, what if this changes everything?
"You okay?" Peter asked, taking a sip of his lemonade.
"Huh? Oh. Yeah, I'm fine. Just got stuff on my mind" I said taking a sip of my lemonade.
"You wanna talk about it?" Peter asked.
That's one of the things I love so much about him. He always wants to make sure that I'm okay.
"Maybe later." I said taking another sip of my lemonade.
"Okay" Peter said sipping his lemonade.
We waited for a while, just talking about a bunch of random stuff, how school was going, what movies were coming out soon, when we would see them, and which ones we were excited for. After some time our food came.
The waiter set the food down in front of us and then walked off. We ate our food, mostly in awkward silence, neither of us really knowing what to say.
After fifteen minutes we were both done eating. We had argued over who would pay the bill, and decided that we would split it. Once the waiter came over with the check, I put half the amount, and Peter put the other half.
"Ready to go?" Peter asked getting up.
"Yeah." I said getting up as well.
I grabbed my purse and then we walked to the door and headed out.
"So, what was on your mind?" Peter asked.
"Right. That." I said as we walked.
"Yeah. So, you okay?" Peter asked.
"Peter, I have to tell you something. Just, promise you won't stop being my friend, even if you don't like what I say." I said.
"Of course" Peter said.
"I. Like you. Like, a lot. Like, more than friends. I have feelings for you." I said awkwardly.
Peter smiled. "Well, I feel the same way about you." He said.
"What? I mean, that's awesome, but I don't know really know why" I said.
"Because. Your smart, and funny, and kind, and beautiful" Peter said.
"Your pretty damn amazing yourself" I said with a smile.
"So, maybe sometime we should go on a real date." Peter said.
