"Okay, I got it!" I shouted across to Daryl, as we finished piling up the wood stock for the fences. "God damn, how are my arms not as big as yours after all that?" I smirked at him, he rolled his eyes. "Dumb ass." He nudged my arm, as I laughed. "Wouldn't have me any other way." I look over and saw Negan staring at us both, he looked mad. Then again, he always did these days. I glance off, as I walked back towards Alexandria, as Daryl cleaned up his bike. "What was all that with Daryl?" I turn, seeing Negan had followed me. "Negan. Can I help you?" I dust my jeans down, as he watched me. "You gotta crush on him?" He was always so mad, I roll my eyes. "I don't know what you think you saw, but Daryl is my closest friend in here. After Rick, you know.. died on me.. the man I loved more than this shitty life?" I glare, as he sighed. "I'm sorry- look. I'm sorry. I just- it's nothing." He backed off, as I nodded. "No, it's okay. I just get snappy when people talk about Daryl and I flirting.. we weren't. It's just been hard since Rick is gone." I lean against the wall, "I am sorry. About Rick." He gently touched my arm. "Thanks, Negan." I take his hand for a moment, god. He was so hot, my eyes hurt looking at him. "I'll see you later, darlin'." He turned and walked away, I watch him leave, as I cross my arms. I did like Negan, a lot. I had such a crush on him, but I knew I couldn't ever do it, Daryl would kill me and after Glenn and Abe, I knew I couldn't do it.

Weeks went by, Negan and I had been close, more close than normal, we spent a lot of time together and he made me feel better, he was one of my best friends and I liked having him with me. I was in the woods, just hunting and trying to find supplies, I went against orders and went out alone, which was completely bad, Daryl would freak when he found out I had left without telling anyone. I was so lost at this point, but I knew I had to keep going. I heard someone, so I hid behind a tree, I see a man, the back of a man's head, I frown. I was so confused. It looked like Rick, a lot like Rick. My heart beat fast and hard, as he turned, so did I. I couldn't be seen. "It's not Rick, it's not Rick." I mumble, as I glance over, it was Rick, Rick was alive. It couldn't be. It just couldn't, he was dead. I rub my eyes, as I blink hard, but he was there. Rick was stood metres away from me, I couldn't seriously be seeing him. "Fuck." I whisper, I held out my knife as I slowly move from behind the tree. "Y/n?" I couldn't trust my eyes, why couldn't I see anyone else? "You're not really here. You're dead." I felt like my life was a lie, did Daryl lie to me about his death? "I'm still out there, y/n. You have to hold on, okay? Just know, I'm alive. And you can go to sleep and know I'm out there, I'll be out there, waiting on you. And I know you'll find me." I couldn't hear this anymore, I didn't believe it. "Please.. just stop. I can't take it anymore."

An arrow suddenly went through my stomach, as the shock made me freeze. I look up, tears running down my face as my hands shake, "Y/n-" Daryl's face froze, "Daryl?" I feel the blood against my skin, as he ran to me. "I couldn't damn see you- shit!" He pulled me up, as my vision blurred over. "Please- please.. it was an accident.. it's okay.. hey, it's okay." I whisper, I kiss his cheek, as I cry out in pain. "Shit, y/n. Please don't die on me. I can't- I can't do this. I can't let you go.. not after Rick." He held me tightly, as he carried me back towards Alexandria, when my vision became black. Hours pass, I woke up, feeling sore and achy, but I was alive. I look up, seeing Negan beside me. "Are you okay?" He sat down, his eyes on mine. "Daryl shot me.. but, it was an accident, he didn't see me.. in the woods.." I sighed, "I thought I lost you." He frowned, "I'm not going anywhere." I whisper, as he played with my hand. "I don't want to be alone again." He whispered. "You're not. You're here with me. Always."

"Always."
