"So... this is something new..." Drista spoke.
"Yeah, ain't seen this in a while..." Cunningham replied.
The two girls were inside of a spacious storage room, in front of a deceased researcher. There were a few other personnel present, along with the site director.
The personnel were wrapping the deceased researcher in a white cloth, preparing to bring the body to the morgue.
"Well, how did you stumble on the dead reseacher?" Site Director Thomas asked the girls.
"We're just looking for something to do, and me and Ariel started to walk around the site." Drista explained. "All of a sudden, we heard something inside the storage room so we went in to see what happened."
"Yeah, we weren't expecting to see a dead body in here." Cunningham added. "He was just laying down on the floor like a ragdoll. We didn't know what to think, so we just called on the nearest people."
"I see..." the site director understood. "The researcher has no bruises or scars. Anyways, you two should leave. We'll take care of this."
"Oh yeah! Drista, we still have those field exercises!" Cunningham suddenly remembered. "Come on, we need to go!"
"Yeah, we're gonna be late!" Drista replied.
With that, the two girls dashed out of the storage room and ran towards the field for the field exercises.
In the hallway, they were hurrying over to the field. They passed over to a connected hallway then all of a sudden, Doctor Hurst had come to walk on the hallway. He was notified about the death inside the storage closet.
"Come on! We gotta hurry!" Cunningham called to the tomboy, making a distance between them as the former started to pick up speed.
"Yeah! I'm catching up!" Drista called back.
Doctor Hurst had noticed the two girls in the hallway. He had grown rather fond of Drista after their first encounter, so he wanted to devise a plan to just get a bit close to her, even if it was just for a moment.
"Morning, sir!" Cunningham greeted as she passed by the assistant site director.
"Morning..." Hurst greeted back, in a serious tone.
Drista was walking closer and Doctor Hurst had to act fast if he wanted his plan to work. He purposefully stumbled and bumped into Drista.
"Oh, sir! Are you okay there?" Drista asked, convinced that the stumble was genuine.
"Yeah, I'm fine..." Hurst replied. "Thanks for your concern..."
Drista could only nod as she continued to hurry towards the field, trying her hardest to catch up with Cunningham.
Hurst looked back at the tomboy, and he smiled to himself. His shameless plan had succeeded. He had a chance to bump into Drista and the tomboy didn't think much of it. After the ordeal, he continued to walk towards the storage room.
After a few moments, the two girls had reached the field. They looked for the rest of the group, which didn't take long as Cunningham found her best friend with the others.
"Hey! Greg!" Cunningham waved over to her apathetic best friend.
Sodokin turned to see his polar opposite, with Drista, waving at him and the others followed suit.
"There you guys are." Riley greeted the two. "And here I thought that you guys forgot about the exercises."
"Well, good thing we didn't." Cunningham replied.
