Slump with his back lazily agains the house, his eyes lowered and sunken. Hair no longer slicked back, his expression lowered. Hidan wasn't himself and everyone could see it. He hardly said a word that day as he stayed still in the garden until the sunset. The only sign of movement was lifting his hood over his head and thumbling with the necklace between his fingers. The odd prayer throughout the day. Many of the members chose to take advantage of the silence in the house whilst it lasts however some of them, including yourself showed their concerns.

Itachi was first. He poked his head out of the back garden door, "Hidan, I've made some lunch."

"I'm good." he mumbles.
Immediately Itachi heads for your location. He sees you mid game with Kisame and whispers in your ear. You couldn't help but forget the controller in your hands, looking up to Itachi with concern as the words GAME OVER sprawl across the screen. Kakuzu's hearing was impeccable and he responded regardless that the conversation wasn't with him, "Let him brood. He'll come out of it soon." You hummed, not wanting to but chose to listen for now.

An hour or so later, "Hidan senpaaaaai"

Hidan sighs and just waits to hear what Tobi has to say. Tobi crouches down next to Hidan, "Tobi can't open the jar of jam..can you help?" A poor excuse, Tobi.. you thought as you watched through the window.
"Go ask Kisame"

"He went out.." Tobi sounds disappointed, eager for his sweet treat. Hidan doesn't create any form of eye contact, takes the jar, twists with ease and places on the decking in front of Tobi who hastily leaves excitedly.

Deidara was headed outside with Zetsu and spot Hidan in the corner, "Hey Hi—" Hidan swiped him a look and immediately Deidara did a U-turn pushing Zetsu back in the house. "What was that about?"
"Didn't you see that look on his face? Last time I saw him like that he went on a 3 day rampage, hm"

"What's wrong with Hidan?" you asked, hoping someone had the answer.

Deidara and Zetsu shrugged their shoulders. Without creating suspicion from Hidan outside you peaked out the window at him once more. He's now slumped on his side, staring out into the distance of the garden, arms crossed in front of his chest. He looked so miserable and you couldn't help but feel almost responsible. You head to the cupboard and pull out a bottle and glass, heading into the garden.

"Hey Hidan" you voice was soft and calm, hoping he would see your here out of concern. He didn't say anything so you chose to put the glass of sake in his view and sit aside him, giving him a bit of space still. After a moment of silence, he sat up and took the drink, knocking it back swiftly. He let out a long, draining sigh letting his body flop to the opposite side this time, his head landing on your thigh.

"Do you wanna talk?" you ask as you place a hand on his shoulder, brushing your thumb back and forth.

He simply grumbled with no actual words. "You don't have to talk if you don't want to. But if you like we can do whatever you want to do, together?" His head turned to look up at you, eyebrow raised, "You're letting me beat the shit out of somebody? Sacrifice a bastard?"

You exhaled into a soft quiet murmer, "No, sorry."

"Appreciate the offer but I honestly rather knock someone out."

"..Was it Kakuzu?"

He looked up at you again, "I just assume 90% of your fights are with him."

"I didn't fight with anyone...yet" he shrugs.

Just in that moment Tobi had run out into the garden, helmet on head and wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap. "Tobi heard Hidan wants to hit someone. Tobi will be kind enough to allow him to - - " He couldn't finish his sentence for Hidan jumped up and swung a strong Kick straight for Tobi's gut, leaving him wheezing on the ground, trying to get up but the wrapping of bubble wrap proved difficult on his limbs.

"Nope, that did nothing" Hidan says genuinely disappointed. He turned to help Tobi up and then headed back to you with his hands slumped in pockets, "Can we just get out of here?"

"Sure, let me just grab my keys and shoes"

You head back into the house and do just as you said, grabbing Hidan a pair as well.

The walk was long. Hidan had discarded the bottle a long time ago, chugging it out to burn the stress inside him. You didn't want to press him or bother him too much. You felt everyone had stressed him out today unintentionally but just..existing. He did accept your company so that is a good sign..right? The silence was killing you though. You wanted to do something, anything. Just to let him know that you're there for him no matter what. You didn't think and words just spoke out.

"I love you. You know that, right?"

He turned to look at you, baffled by your words and let out a small, "Eh..?"

You immediately realised how he's taking this and explained your words, "I mean, I care about you. Just as much as the others. And if you're feeling like shit, then I feel like shit too. I want to help you however I can. You mean a lot to me. I'm not expecting you to pour your soul out to me or say you love me like family back or anything. Just, let me help you? Please? I hate seeing you like this.."

You stood, keeping eye contact with him almost refusing to break it. If you did, it felt as if he wouldn't believe you. His face was plain, taking in what you said with almost careful consideration. The longer you two stood, the quicker to felt defeat. You let out a sigh of defeat, turning to continue your walk in the woods until his hand reached for your wrist and pulled you in close to his chest. The grip was tight and his forehead pressed on your shoulder. You were with a frozen after this, not knowing what was going through his mind. However you couldn't risk him feeling rejected. So you pulled your arms around his body in reciprocation.

"..I'm not good with words." He mumbled into your neck.

"That's okay. You don't need to say anything."

His head readjusted to resting his chin atop of your head. He breathed out, "You're something else, you know that?"

You smiled into his chest, "Did I say the right thing?"

"It helped."
