Chapter 95: Zeref

As Gray and I were sitting down on the green grass at night, we held hands as we blushed and looked at the starry sky. I was blushing as his hand was cold but also warm.

We heard a evil chuckle and turned our heads to see Zeref. I gasped as Zeref got closer to us smirking. "Well, it seems that I have found you, Fumiko Ai."

Gray stood up, as I was still sitting down, and stretched his arms with his eyes full of anger. "Fumiko," Gray said. "get out of here."

"What? Are you kidding? He only wants me don't st-"

"I said to get out of here! Can't you see that I am trying to protect you?!" He yelled at me as my eyes opened in shock. "I owe you one for the last time anyways." He mumbled quietly as I stood up and ran home.

"Ya know," Zeref smirked. "she's not gonna get that far. Once I'm done with you I-"

"Quit the crap and shut up!"

Zeref growled. "I see, you are scared that she gets hurt, aren't you? Getting in my way sacrificing yourself for her."

"Yeah. So what?"

"That is just stupid."

"What?" Gray asked with a little of anger in his voice.

"If you sacrifice yourself for her and get beaten up, what's the use?"

"That she'll be fine."

"And if she gets hurt afterwards?"

Gray stared at him shocked as Zeref smirked. "That's what I thought."

"Then if she does, I'll stand up to find you and hurt you. I will not stand like an idiot to watch her get hurt. It happened once and it won't happen again."

"Oh, that's right. That Yuki girl, wasn't it?"

Gray ran towards Zeref to punch him as he screamed. "Shut up!" Zeref managed to punch his stomach, making Gray cough. "Idiot." Zeref mumbled as Gray grabbed his arms with a smirk. Gray pulled him up and threw him to the ground, Zeref ending in the ground with his back facing the ground. Gray catched his breath and sat on Zeref as he punched his face over and over again. Gray stopped for a moment to catch his breath again. Zeref's face full of bruises and bleeding through his mouth. "Are you done?" Zeref asked as Gray turned his hand into a strong fist. Zeref punched Gray on the face with his right hand, making Gray fall to the ground to his right. Zeref had a chance to punch Gray but, when Zeref was walking towards Gray, I stood in front of him as I catched my breath from running home and back to the park. Gray was on the floor as he cleaned his right cheek.

"Fumiko Ai, great that you are standing right in front of me, care to give me the diamond now?"

I growled, but sighed to calm down. "No,"

"Huh?" Zeref questioned.

"not so easily." I got in a fighting position with both of my fists in front of me and one leg in front of the other. "You should fight with me to get it."

And with that, Zeref and I began to fight. Gray stood up and went as planned. Gray and I had made a plan last night, before going to sleep. I would become Zeref's distraction, as we fight, and Gray tried to catch him from behind. But, it wasn't that easy when Zeref was a strong opponent. Zeref's punches were strong, his kicks on my ribs hurt like if they were hitting me with steel. I couldn't help but hold on to the pain. Gray ran towards Zeref from behind but, not in a good moment. Zeref kicked my stomach making me stumble back and punched Gray again. My body was weak, I couldn't even stand up. Now, it was Zeref's and Gray's turn to fight. I couldn't do anything but watch, we aren't going to leave this jerk get away this time. We weren't gonna stand here like idiots watching him go away and hurt more people. I stood up, holding my left side, and began to walk weakly towards them. My hands into strong fists and my face full of anger. I grabbed Zeref's shoulder and turned him turn around and gave him a punch that he'll never forget. I put all of my anger to that punch. I couldn't help but think that a lot of my family members had died to protect this diamond, no, I'm not going to make a mistake like that. Zeref fell to the ground, almost unconscious, as we called the police to get this jerk to prison.

A few minutes later, we heard the police coming and taking him to prison. But of course, they had to also bring ambulances to check our bruises. I was in one while Gray was in another. Both of us smirking and smiling at each other as a nurse took care of us. Once everything was over, we walked home.

We were at our sofa sitting down, my head on his shoulder and his arm around my back. We were holding hands.

"Fumiko,"

I looked up at him as I smiled.

"it's finally over."

I giggled. "Yeah, but, we don't know if he could come back again."

"Please, don't say that, stupid."

I punched his head. "Idiot! Why in every kawaii(cute) moment you must ruin everything?!" I argued.

He rubbed his head. "How come you be always punching my head?!" I punched his stomach.

"What was that for?!"

"You said 'why on my head?' So I punched your stomach." I crossed my arms and looked away.

He looked away with a smirk. "Tsk... whatever."

I growled.

"Hey Fumiko," Gray asked serious as I looked away arms crossed. "Yeah?"

"what happened to your aunt? I mean, I know it was by a car accident but-"

"Because of Zeref," I interrupted Gray as I looked angrily at the tv.
"you see, Zeref was also following my aunt like he did with me. She was on her car running away from him, it was in a cold and rainy night. She held the Ai diamond on her bare hands. He followed her on his car as she kept running away on her car. Zeref bumped her car from behind making her lose control of the wheel and fell down a bridge. She fell in the water as she held the diamond which fell in the water with her. The next day, they found her body as she still held the diamond in her hand. My father got the diamond and made it into a necklace." I held my necklace, which was special for me, as Gray stared at it shocked. "Fumiko, d-don't tell me that, that necklace is-"

"Yeah," I replied sadly as I looked and played with my necklace. "the diamond was right under his nose. I bet that he didn't even noticed that the Ai diamond was around my neck." I smirked as he apologized. "I'm sorry."

"Don't worry." I smiled eyes closed. We kept watching tv normally, as always.
