"𝕳ow are you holding up, Melody?" Minnie questioned after visiting the manor to bring Evelyn over on the weekend after she had been begging her to see us all apparently. The headmistress was lucky enough to be able to spare a couple of hours out of Hogwarts with the older heads of houses looking over things whilst visited her favourite pupils.
"I'm-"
"Moody"
"Snappy"
"Evil"
"Viscous"
"Beautiful" James finished with a soft sigh, the four boys turning to him as though he had grown three heads, my lips tugging upwards when he smiled dreamily at me, Minnie quirking her eyebrows as Evelyn laughed, playing with Harry on the floor.
"Oh he's in a Melody trance again, is he?" She hummed, the other four rolling their eyes, Sirius muttering traitor under his breath, "I remember the countless ones I used to catch him in, in my classroom and that was years before you were even together"
"What?" We all mumbled confusedly, tilting our heads to the side as she nodded her head, my eyes flickering to James who also seemed to be perplexed by her words, my hand smoothing over my swelled stomach,
"Oh yes, it happened quite a lot, i'm not sure you were aware-"
"She's aware wolf" Sirius and Peter piped up simultaneously with a mischievous grin, the ex professor turning to them with narrowed eyes like she did back in our school days, before continuing,
"I specifically remember one time in your third year, Lily had just...politely rejected you outside my classroom so you came in rather mopey, well Melody gave you a hug and gave you some of her chocolate and you didn't take your eyes off her for the rest of the lesson with a dazed smile on your face. Of course, it happened more when you got together. All of us Professors called them James' Melody trances" She explained, my eyes widening ever so slightly, turning to my husband, the same expression on his face despite his warm cheeks,
"Even when he was obsessed with Lily?" Remus asked amused, her head nodding, causing the three Marauders to guffaw at him, Regulus displaying a smirk on his lips,
"You used to act like a couple all of the time!" Peter claimed, Remus and Sirius nodding their heads in agreement, Evelyn jumping off the floor with Harry in her arms,
"Yeah, I thought they were a couple when they weren't. It was very confusing"
"We were close best friends" We defended, James standing behind me, rubbing my shoulders, pressing his thumbs soothingly into my shoulder blades, all of them snorting,
"Friends, my dog" Sirius muttered, just as Monty and Mia walked in with bright smiles on their faces, large shopping bags in their hands, placing them on the table,
