Silencer: Part 1

"We're looking for new talent with stunning musical abilities and visual skills with a brand new style that everyone will die for. You'll have two weeks to send in your videos!" I show the members of Kitty Section and Marinette the new video Mr. Roth uploaded as I happily exclaim, "It's the perfect opportunity to showcase Kitty Section not to mention your stage clothes Marinette." "Yeah! If we all pitch in two weeks is more than enough time to make an awesome video. Everyone in?" The band agrees and we high-five before heading over to Luka's and Juleka's to practice the new song, Luka, Rose, and I wrote since we had agreed to do a collab song. 

Within the two weeks, we had Marinette made some awesome designs and we perfected the song with some dance moves as well and we make the video soon ending with a group pose. Once done editing we submit the video. We wait patiently to hear any news but after a few days, I was beginning to worry. I had come over to listen to Kitty Section practice and sing our collab song as well. "This is awesome, we're so in the moment. The song's fun and totally sincere," Luka comments while I go check my phone for the billionth time. "Hey (y/n), still no news about the contest?" He asks me sitting down next to me and I shake my head. "No, do you think they didn't like our song?" "They had to have received a ton of videos, they probably haven't made their pick yet," Luka reassures me when Ivan says, "Guys come look at this," Confused we look out the window where on a big screen we can see XY with what looks to be poor rip-offs of our designs.

I pull up the live stream to see it wasn't just our designs he ripped off but our song as well. "Wow, love the new look XY. You've really outdone yourself this time. How'd you come up with the style that's so...Original?" Alec asks and XY taps his forehead. "It's all up here." "But that's our original style," Ivan points out, and Luka points at the screen. "That's Marinette's unicorn and masks." "Not to mention our lyrics, melody, and music. It should be us on tv and there better be a good explanation. Let's go, we gotta have it out with Bob Ross and XY."

I call Marinette and explain the situation and she was just as angry. We head over to the station just to be stopped by security. "They're not here right now," They lie to us, and Mari points at the huge screen. "Seriously? They're right there on live screen." "You're not allowed in, you have no invitation and the show already started." "But it's our show." "Not our problem miss," Mari looks between me and Luka with a knowing look that we share, pulling Ivan, Rose, and Juleka to the side and we came up with a plan. "Help! Our friend's been akumatized and Ladybug, Chat Noir, and (s/n), aren't here to save us!" Rose screams as she and Juleka run from Ivan who was dressed up in his Kutty Section outfit and chased them while roaring. The two guards go up and stop them stating, "Stop messing around kids it's not gonna work. We've got work to do so get out of here and go watch the show at home."

Luka, Marinette, and I take this opportunity to sneak in and enter the studio to hear, "Awesome XY, such a 180 from your last record and might be your best yet. So tell me, where'd you get the inspiration from for all this new material?" "Oh, it's nothing really, I came up with the whole song in like five minutes." "In five minutes? He couldn't even sing it the way it's supposed to be sung," Luka scoffs as Mari and I chime in. "His remix is terrible, truly an insult to all songwriters." "And his mask isn't even a good rip-off," Spotting Mr. Roth, I walk up and gain his attention. "Mr. Roth, my name's (y/n) (l/n), and I sent you the Kitty Section video," He arches an eyebrow at me.

"Video? What video? I don't know what you're talking about kid," Marinette shoves her phone in his face stating, "Maybe this will help jog your memory. See? The costumes, the dance moves, the masks, and the music, it's all the same," Bob crosses his arms as he dryly chuckles at us as his son walked up. "There's no comparison, you're some amateur garage band and my son is a solo artist. You play instruments, he uses digital music. Our unicorn is much cooler and your mask is nothing like yours." "That's not true! You copied Marinette's costumes!" Luka points before I chime in, pulling out the notebook we had used to write the song and showed it to them stating, "It's the exact same song, word for word, beat for beat, you stole our music, designs, and style." "Let's not exaggerate now we may have just been a little bit inspired, that's all," XY says with a shrug and Luka glared harder as he shoved a finger into his chest and snatched the mask off him shouting, "Inspired?! You flat-out stole! You didn't design this mask, Marinette did. (y/n), Rose and I wrote that song!" "We're not asking for much just let Kitty Section appear on the show and give them proper credit."

I say and Bob rolls his eyes as he scoffed once more. "Yeah, first they'll wanna be on the show, then they'll be asking for a cut of the profits. No way! Never saw or heard of Kitten Division." "It's Kitty Section," I growl as XY waves us off. "Just forget it, it's no big deal." "No! It's not fair! I'm not gonna stand here and let Luka's, mine, and my friends' work get stolen! If you won't tell the truth then I will right now, on the air, live!" I start marching toward the camera when Bob grabs my arm and pulls me back with a malicious smirk. 

"If you do that I'll tell them that you're the copycats, not us. I've got all the music biz eating out of my hand so who do you think they're gonna believe? Me or a group of nobodies? You'll never have a future in this business, never make another costume and there'll be no more music for your buddies because as far as everybody will be concerned, you'll be the rip-offs." "Not if I can prove it, see? I posted the video onto this music sight and ViewTube a week ago, there are people who already know we came first!" I exclaim, pulling up the video when he takes my phone from me. "Give that back!" Mari shouts as she joins me in trying to get the phone back.
