Jiang cheng opened his eyes and sat up. His surroundings were different from what he remembered. He let out the breath he held. Just then the door opened and Hui zhong walked in. "Sect leader Jiang! you're finally awake." The disciple placed the tray he held in his hands on a nearby table. "How did I get here?" The disciple sighed and kneeled near his bed.

Third Person POV

Jinling, "Why is he still not up?" The physician checked the man's wrist again. "I'm afraid the issue is much bigger than what we expected. I advise you to seek a cultivating physician's help. I can heal external wounds and poisons but this, this is something out of my reach. My apologies young master Jin." The boy did not give up, "Master Shen, you have treated me before, numerous times when I was cursed. Why can't you treat him?"

The physician looked down, "Young master, to say the truth. It was not me who healed you. Sect leader Jiang lifted mountains and stopped the rivers to find the antidote. He got it the moment the poison started working. He... he is completely devoured by it. Antidote alone can't heal him. And my skills are inferior to heal this."

Jiang slowly fluttered his eyes open. The first thing he saw was his nephew's worried face. He sat up with the help of Jinling and tried to speak but his throat was too dry. He coughed covering his mouth with his robes. When he retracted his hands, he saw blood all over the place.

He was still in the left side of the manor. He was confused but looking at his nephew, he couldn't help but pat his shoulders. The physician left the room with a few other who he did not bother to look at.

The moment the door shut, Jinling's eyes poured out water and his face wrinkled. He hugged the other tightly and sobbed. Jiang cheng did not know the reason but he tried to calm him down, apologizing to him repeatedly. He did not know why but he felt like it was another mistake of his which caused the other to be worried to the point of tears.

"Ji-nlin-g" He coughed again, "A sect leader should not cry." He tried his best to not cough, but his dry throat forced him to. "Jiujiu, please, you need to keep yourself healthy." Jiang cheng looked down. Even though they were still hugging, he felt completely exposed. For a second, he saw Wei wuxian stand in front of him with a sword in his chest, his sword, Sandu.

He couldn't breathe, it was like someone was crushing his neck. Jinling who noticed something was off, looked at his uncle who looked like see saw death. He waved his hands in front of his face, but it did not avert his attention. Fear filled him. He quickly shouted for the physician who came running in.

A few hours ago, Jinling came to Yunmeng around night with his friends. He knew his uncle wouldn't have eaten so he took a tray with Lotus root pork rib soup and walked to his uncle's room. When he was about to turn right, he glanced at the left side and saw small purple sparks. Just then he saw Hui zhong mumbling something and walking from his uncle's room.

"What's wrong?" Hui zhong was startled at first but then he greeted him, "I went to meet sect leader Jiang, but he is not in his room or his study. Maybe he went out to take a walk." Jinling handed the tray over to the disciple and walked towards the spark. The closer he got, the louder were the sound of sparks.

When he entered the room, he lost his breath. His uncle laid on the ground, unconscious. There was blood all over his white robes. He fell back, with his hands shaking. Hui zhong who saw his reaction, placed the tray on the ground and ran to check on the Jin. "What's wrong young master Jin?" When he took a look inside, his eyes opened wide. Jinling crawled inside and sat by his uncle's side and shook him. Hui zhong ran out and called for a physician.

Jinling tried everything he could, but the other not even flutter his eyes. He cupped Jiang cheng's face and wiped the blood around his mouth. Jinling's eye's watered. Just then the Jiang opened his eyes. He looked confused and looked around. When he saw blood on his hands, he stood up leaning against the wall. It was like Jinling did not exist in his eyes.

Jinling stood up as well, trying to question his uncle. But the moment he touched him, Jiang cheng unsheathed his sword and aimed it at the wall. Jinling was about to stop him when the Jiang used all his might and stabbed the wall. But his sword fell off his grip and he hit himself against the table corner. He took a vase and held it tight in his grasp, breaking it to pieces.

Jinling was about to get closer when the other held the broken pieces close to his chest, hugging them. But it only stabbed him. "Jiujiu! What is wrong with you!!" Jinling was crying at this point. The other did not realize his presence and kept harming himself.

Jiang cheng stepped back and looked at Jinling. He immediately fell to his knees and the pieces fell harshly against the cold floor. "Jiujiu-" Jinling's words were off by the Jiang who held his feet. "Shijie... I'm sorry, it's all my fault. I'm really sorry." Jinling was taken back. He felt his knees give up. He lifted Jiang cheng's shoulders. "Jiujiu! Please stop." The Jiang suddenly fell back on the shattered pieces. He was completely drenched in blood.

Jinling was about to lift him up when the physician arrived. Hui zhong pulled the sect leader up and brought him out of the room with Jinling's help. Right when they stepped out of the room, the Jiang swiftly covered himself with the purple beddings. Making everything bloody. He tightly gripped it and mumbled words. The physician stopped them and treated him in the same room.

Maids came in to light the room and shuddered at their sect leader's state. After covering all his wounds and lighting herbal incense sticks, he checked all his spiritual terminals. At first, he didn't find anything but when he tried again and again, he found traces of poison.

The poison was deeply embedded into the other that it was so close to becoming a part of him. He has treated variety of poisons but this one was more serious. It was a type of poison that can never be created by any mortal cultivator. An immortal had a chance, but it was too demonic to be used so easily. A poison like this was more likely to kill the maker before it could even be used.

Just then Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi entered. Jinling and the two were supposed to enjoy the two days in Yunmeng Jiang but when they heard cries the two who were led to guest rooms couldn't help but come out.
