"No way," you say to Toris. "You're messing with me."
"No, I'm really not."
"You become a dragon when you go outside."
"Yes."
"Prove it."
That catches Toris by surprise. "H-Huh?"
"Go outside and become a dragon. Go on, do it."
"Uh, I um...o-okay."
Toris goes to your back door and leaves the house. Upon stepping outside, he transforms into a large green dragon.
Your eyes go wide.
"...well then," you say to nobody in particular, then the Toris. "....sorry I doubted you, I guess."
He steps back inside and becomes his human form again.
"So, what're you doing here?"
"Well, I'm a spirit. I protect the house that I decide to stay in."
"So you just show up and if you like the place you decide to stay?"
"Yes." He smiles at you. "I really like your home. It's very cozy."
You fold your arms over your chest as you lower your eyelids. "What's the catch."
"Huh?"
"There's always a catch, what is it."
"I don't believe there is a catch." You raise an eyebrow. "I'm serious!"
"If you say so. You're not gonna leave if I ask you, are you?"
He's taken aback by that question. "B-But I chose this place!" He drops to his knees and puts his hands together in a pleading manner. "I promise I'll protect you and the house, so please let me stay!"
"How much do you eat?"
"I usually eat in my rooster form, so no more than a human would. I promise I won't be a bother, so please!"
You sigh. "Fine, you can stay."
He smiles and stands up.
"But if I catch you doing anything outta line I'll make you into lunch, got it?"
"G-Got it," he answers a little nervously.
