Girl Meets New Love

Chapter 26

Rowan's POV:

I hate myself for letting this just dissipate that quickly.

"It's been 5 months, row."

I hate when I talk aloud.

She rolls off top of me and leans on her elbow looking at me and says,
"Rowan. Do you realize how long that is. 5 fucking months.
5 months without speaking. Has that time apart not bothered you?! It damn well bothered me."

I say defensively,
"If crying myself to sleep every night, barely eating, and being moody isn't bothered I don't know what is."

She mutters,
"Yeah well. Same here."

I look around feeling awkward and say,
"So now what?"

She says innocently and happily,
"Cuddling and new girl till we pass out?"

I say,
"Sabrina no. I mean about us."

She rolls her eyes and groans,
"Rowan nothing has to be 'now what' about us. We resolved the issue. Done. Over with."

I say,
"It's not until I know I can trust you again."

She says throwing her hands up,
"Come on it was months ago!"

I say,
"And you also told me you love me months ago. Or is that just something of the past or done and over with too."

I see her whole demeanor change and she has a guilty look.
She starts,
"Row-"

I say quietly,
"Just take me home."

She shakes her head and says,
"No."

And grabs me and pulls me into a hug.
I desperately try to release her grip, but we all know she's a lot stronger than me. Maybe I should've agreed to go to the gym with her all those times.
She says,
"I also told you I love you with my everything forever. That was not just something of the past. God, I don't think I'll ever not be in love with you. You make it too damn easy to love. Don't think I never mean it when I tell you that I love you."

As she was talking, her voice got quieter as I looked into her ice blue eyes.

She whispers,
"You're an idiot you know that?"

I chuckle to myself and say,
"Yeah."

She holds both sides of my neck and whispers,
"I missed that smile."

I say nudging my head into the crease of her neck,
"Mmm."

I hear her phone vibrate and she groans,
"Ugh."

She gets up and picks up the phone,

"Hello?"

"Oh hey."

"Good. You?"

"Yeah uh-

She looks over at me and smirks and continues still looking at me,

"Yeah we're good as always."

Her face falls and continues,

"..huh?"

"Yeah kinda."

"Hah."

"I mean when?"

She chokes on her breath and continues,

"Tomorrow morning?"

"Yeah but once you add traffic, try an hour."

"Yeah I know but this is last minute."

She looks at me sympathetically and continues,

"No, I do."

"I.. I guess I mean I have to anyway"

She yawns and says,

"Okay. Alright thanks. Yeah bye."

She puts her phone back on the table and falls back onto the couch on my lap on her stomach.
I say,
"Who was that?"

She lifts up her head to say,
"Record company."

I say waiting for her to go on,
"Aaaand?"

She says,
"They want me to drive out there by tomorrow meowing, and stay for a week to finish up my album."

I say,
"Do you not want to do that? What's the problem?"

She says,
"No I do.. Obviously. But we leave for the Bahamas next week."

I say finishing with an O with my mouth,
"Oh."

She says sitting up next to me,
"Well hey I mean it is only like a 25 minute drive so I mean I don't have to stay there. I can drive home every night to prep and shit then I'll just work extra hard so a week isn't even needed."

I say,
"But Bri work always comes first-"

She says,
"Nah I'm just making sure it's all ready to go, record some last minute things, and that's it. Plus I don't think I need to stay there for a week."

I say,
"I want you to stay there. Don't waste gas everyday. I'll pack our luggages. Plus we're only going for the weekend."

She says running your fingers through her hair,
"Yeah that's true. I guess I'm just reluctant because we just uh made up and I don't wanna because we um-"

I cut her off and say laughing,
"Shh you're just babbling. Go to Hollywood. I'll tell Michael and we'll just have to miss another week of filming and live shows."

She says throwing her hands up,
"Well hey sorry I have another career mister Michael."

I say,
"You're lucky you're a good actress otherwise he would seriously hate you."

She jokingly flips her hair and says,
"What can I say."
