So, @Magic_and_books wanted me to write about a very shy Graham who wanted to ask the reader for her hand. But his nervousness made him unable to do that so he shove the ring on her finger while she was sleeping. So, here's my version of it. I really hope you'll enjoy this first Gregory one shot x reader!

(y/n) is of course 'your name' and (h/c) is 'hair colour'.

***Goose's P.O.V.***

Carefully I placed my foot on one of the last step of the stairs and slowly moved my weight on it. The relief I felt when I reached the end of that way too long stairs was a pleasant feeling and I walked towards the closed door of the bedroom. I still walked carefully, not wanting to trip when I had already succeeded to walk the stairs without falling. And I didn't fancy to feel the hot tea on my skin. I looked at the trail filled with perfect home-made pancakes in my hands. It was the perfect lunch and the tea was the finishing touch. I must admit I was pretty proud on my creation. Luckily, I made my way to the door without tripping. I looked at my filled hands and realised that now came another challenge: knocking.

I kicked against the door with my feet but didn't take any steps back so I felt the door in my face as it opened. I could just safe the trail in the last second thanks to my fast reflexes. 'Oh, sorry! I didn't see you ther- Is that for me?' She asked as she saw the filled trail. 'Yes, of course. Well, it's for us; I'm hungry too.' She smiled sweetly which caused me to do the same. Her smile was so contagious. I entered the room and felt a sting in my heart. Clothes and other useful stuff were spread over the floor and the bed. I had almost forgotten she was leaving me.

She must have seen the smile disappearing from my face. 'It's not for long, Greggy.' She said. ''I'll be back before you've got the time to notice I'm gone.' She said but I knew she lied. Two months was a long time. And then of course she went to France and Italy. I placed the trail on the bed and sat down next to it. She sat down next to me and wrapped an arm around me as an attempt to comfort me. But I was past the point of comforting. She would leave and she would meet another person there. A more handsome and cleverer man who could love her better than I ever could. I was sure of it. Persons like that are easy to find, especially in France or Italy. And that was the reason why I was so reluctant to let her go. I looked at the woman of my dreams and felt like I had already lost her.

The lunch didn't taste as good as I expected, but I blamed my mood for that, not my cooking skills. Though I could do with some cooking lessons too. (y/n) seemed to like it, and that made me a bit happier. She looked so beautiful with her (h/c) locks and her shining eyes. This was the sweet girl I had fallen in love with, this was the sweet girl that would leave me soon enough if I didn't handle quickly. I had always felt as if she wasn't aware of how desperately in love I was. I needed to show her how much I cared for her and how much I loved her. She needed to know that. Only then she would stay with me and a ring would keep her close to me. And it would seal the love we shared. Though I couldn't think of any reasons why a woman like her would love some boy like me.

'You shouldn't be sad because of me leaving. I'm coming back, you know that.' She said sweetly and put the empty plates away. She touched my cheek with her fingers and the sudden warmth calmed me a bit. I knew how much she wanted to go to Paris and Venice. How she had dreamed of the lights at night and longed for the sweet soothing sound of the accordion to fill her ears. I had noticed her watching outside of the window, imagining the old Eiffel Tower standing tall. I wanted her to be happy, and if she was happy on a vacation for two months then I would love to let her go. But to let her travel to Paris, the city of love, and Italy was difficult for me for I knew how the little classic rues were filled with crawling men that watched her longingly. Years at Scotland Yard had made me more alert. I looked at her and forced a smile. 'You better promise me that or I'll keep an eye on you during work. You know we've got colleagues all over the world.' She chuckled cutely.

Reluctantly I helped her move her heavy bags to her car. The weight was no big deal for me: I'd carry much more for her. I'd do anything for her. Night was already upon us when I reminded her to take some dictionaries with her. Everything was planned, everything was arranged. Everything was done.

Well... not everything.

My anxiety grew with ever second closer to the moment she would leave me. It ate me up from the inside when she smiled at me, when she laughed or stared at me with those mesmerising eyes.

I didn't dare to ask her to marry me. Every time when I tried to talk about the future, when I tried to make our way to the subject I wanted to talk about, she cut me off with her plans in Venice or I suddenly fell silent because of the nerves. Rejection scared me, it took my words away.

We lied on the couch, telling each other stories and imagining how it would be in Italy and Paris. We talked about the past, the present and I kept on thinking of the future. She became quieter when the night fell and my questions remained unanswered. I tried to keep in my laugh when I heard her snore softly. She was asleep. I lovingly brushed some hair out of her face and kissed her on her nose. The sweet smile I wore disappeared quickly when I realised I was too late. I couldn't ask her to marry me anymore. Tomorrow I would leave early for work and when I would come back... she'd be gone...

She lied in an odd position, spread over the couch with her arms dangling. For a brief moment I thought of another way to make her mine. I opened the little box with the shiny ring and stared at it. My eyes moved to her dangling hands and back to the ring. Why not? Why wouldn't I do it? Without actually thinking it through I took the ring out of the little heart-shaped box and gently shove it on her finger.

I let out a sigh and grabbed my keys that were waiting for me on the table. I checked if I had everything and drunk the last bit of coffee before I walked out of the kitchen. Today was the day. With a hunched back, my shoulders hanging and with small steps I reluctantly walked towards the front door, staring at my shoes. 'Where do you think you're going?' A sudden soft voice made me look up and I was amazed to see my love standing in the hallway, smiling sweetly at me. 'To work.' I answered sheepishly and looked at her astonished. 'Aren't you supposed to be resting?' I asked her. 'Aren't you supposed to actually ask a woman if she wants to marry you?' She said sassily, but her smile hadn't disappeared. She rose her hand and showed me the ring. It looked breathtakingly good on her fingers, as if it was made for her and her only. My cheeks coloured red and I looked at the ground again. She lifted my head with her decorated hand. 'Aww, how adorable. My Greggy didn't dare!' She cried out and looked at me. I looked away. 'I don't need humiliation before going to work, thank you.' I said sassily. 'Ask me, Greg.' She said and handed me back the ring. 'I'll be late for work.' I answered, blushing even more than before. 'Just, ask.' She demanded and looked at me sternly. I nodded, got down on one knee and asked my love to marry me, stuttering and blushing heavily.

When I was finished she looked at me, a tear stinging in her eye. 'Yes, Greg, I would love to marry you.' She replied and waited until I had shoved the ring on her finger to kiss me afterwards. I smiled during the kiss and we stood there, not caring about time while it passed away. 'I really need to go. I'll be late for work!' I said grinningly between two kisses. 'You're not going to your work today.'

I stopped to look at her. 'I'm not going to my work today? How do you mean I'm not going to my work today?' She kept on smiling, her smile even brightened. 'We're going on a vacation.'

Hey there! It's me again! I really hope you liked the first real Greg one shot x reader! The picture above shows how adorable he'd look when he'd ask you to marry him.

This was sort of requested by @Magic_and_books and I really hope you liked it! Please tell me what you think of it, I have a feeling my stories are getting less good than normally (if you could ever call my stories good) because of the tons of stress I receive from school and relatives... I need some advice/feedback...

Anyway, I really hope you liked it and please vote and comment!

And requests are always open!

Catch you later!
