Hey there!

Valentine specials are coming, but I realised that Carnival comes first! So here's a Carnival special for Sherlock and you, I really hope you'll like it!

More words followed until the man started to smile like a fool. I just stood next to Sherlock and kept quiet like he had asked me to. Not that I had been quiet all the time, I had been the one that solved this mystery and Sherlock knew it. He did not admit it, he's way too stubborn for facing the truth, but he knew it. And I knew that.

Sherlock stopped his talking and shook the police's hand. 'Grazie di cuore.' Said the man with genuine gratefulness in his eyes. 'Di niente.' Answered Sherlock and left the police officer.

'Another mystery solved.' Said I happily. 'Didn't I do well?' Sherlock chuckled. 'You? Oh please, don't make me laugh. I solved this mystery. You only where there to point out what I had already seen.' Now it was my time to laugh. 'If that's what puts your ego to rest, then fine. But you, me, that police officer, the victim and your huge ego all know that it was me who cracked this case.' He smiled.

'My ego strongly disagrees.'

I smiled too and walked towards our hotel, but Sherlock wrapped his fingers around my wrist. 'What are you doing?' I asked. 'Let's go back to the hotel and get our stuff before the plane leaves, just like our plan.'

A mischievous grin took over Sherlock's full lips. 'The plan has changed.'

I crossed my arms over my chest. 'You're not the one that decides that.' I said playing sassilly. 'Oh but I am.' Said Sherlock. 'Besides, you'll like this far better than the dull plane trip back to London. Come with me. Quickly now.' He started to walk towards the grand square in the middle on the city. Over bridges and passing through huge crowds with cheering people. If Sherlock wasn't wearing his detective coat and wasn't such a tall man, I would never have found him in this chaos.

But after a while, I lost him anyway.

'Sherlock!' I shouted to the cheering crowd of Italian men and women. 'Sherlock, where are you?' I tried again but my voice was useless against a crowd as loud and big as this one. 'Sherlo-' My scream was cut off my hands that pushed me into a door. I immediately went over to combat mode and struggled to free myself from the hands' grip. But when I looked up I met Sherlock's blue eyes.

'Stop fighting me!' He commanded and I stopped immediately. 'What was that good for?' Asked the detective. 'Sorry,' I apologised, 'I thought you were someone else. You disappeared so suddenly!' Luckily, Sherlock wasn't angry with me. An angry Sherlock is worse than Moriarty, I can assure you.

He smiled and handed me something. 'Here, put this on.' I looked at the thing and was stunned by the beautiful mask. 'A mask? Do you mean that we'll?..' I didn't dare to finish my sentence in fear that Sherlock would laugh. But, instead of laughing, he nodded slightly. Then he blushed a bit. 'If you want to, of course...' I nodded excitedly. 'Yes! I've always wanted to celebrate Carnival in Venice! But, I think we'll need a costume.'

'Already arranged.' Said Sherlock and made a gesture to the friendly-looking man holding two dresses. 'You can choose, my lady. The man next to you has selected these two.' I looked to my right and saw Sherlock searching for a right costume for him. I smiled and took a look at the two options. Both were stunning, but I knew which one was meant for me.

I watched myself in the mirror though I barely recognised myself. The dress looked gorgeous on me, at least according to the shop owner, and the mask was the perfect fitting finishing touch. I grinned as I saw Sherlock's reaction when I left the dressing room. He himself did not look bad either.

Not bad at all, actually.

The shop owner told us that he'd keep our own clothing here for us to collect later. He had wished us a nice evening and Sherlock and I rushed into the cheering crowd, cheering along with them.

We reached the centre of the party and sang and danced until our throats were sore and our feet were burning with pain. But it did not matter. There was one more thing I wanted to do, one thing that I had always wanted to in Venice on this particular day: waltzing.

I looked at Sherlock and he met my eyes, realising what I wanted.

'No.'

I looked pleadingly. 'Please?'

'No!'

'Why not? You love dancing, I love dancing, let's dance!' Sherlock still did not seem really convinced. 'Besides, I've just solved an important case; I deserve it.' Sherlock laughed. 'Is that so? You did not solve it, love. Don't lie to yourself.'

But he took my hand anyway and led me into a waltz. Together with other waltzing couples, we danced in the happy music of Venice. I was surprised to see Sherlock smile at me while we danced, and I uncontrollably smiled back. The loud music changed into a right waltzing tune and it sounded wonderful in our ears. The smell of our new clothing was different from the familiar scent of Sherlock's coat, but it wasn't less pleasant. Enchanted by the strange music and the bright and passionate look in my partner's blue eyes, we danced along and turned and turned. In utter delight I smiled and waltzed. 'What made you change your mind?' I asked Sherlock as we moved on the music.

'Well, you have solved a difficult case...'

And finally he admits that you did it! ;-)

Sorry for my Italian, I might have made a mistake! Oh, waltzing in Venice, how wonderful would it be... *sigh*

Oh, by the way, you should check out the picture I've put above, especially if we share the particular fandom... ^^
