(Requested by anon on Tumblr: Hello! May I request a one shot Lindir X HumanReader where he shows her all the beautiful places in Rivendell while she and the Company stay there? Maybe some fluff at the end?

Author's Notes: I made the reader someone who was transported to Middle Earth but reader doesn't know of LOTR or The Hobbit so that's that. You can also think of how reader was transported and how and why the Company let her go with them.

Warning: none, it's fluff)

"Gandalf?"

The wizard felt a tug on his sleeve as he heard a soft voice call out to him—quite a contrast from the boisterous Company. He turned around and saw you looking at him. There was a look of hesitation on your face.

"What is it, my dear (Y/N)?" he asked, sitting down so you could talk properly.

You fiddled with the hems of your tunic, biting the inside of your cheek before finding the courage to ask Gandalf what you had in mind. "Is it...alright for me to roam around Rivendell?" you asked.

His eyebrows went up but there was an amused look in his eyes and a smile playing on his lips. The moment you laid eyes on Rivendell from afar, you were gaping at how majestic and ethereal it looked. You could not stop admiring how the sun shone upon the house and how the trees and the waterfalls added beauty to the place.

Of course in your world there were places that were magical but you had no opportunity to see them in person. The Shire was also a lovely sight but this place was different. You could almost hear a choir with their angelic voices sing softly in the background.

"Of course you can," he said. "There was no need to ask permission. Lord Elrond has welcomed us here."

You nodded. "I just thought that there might be places that I am not allowed to go to," you said. "I also thought that you and the others would prefer if I stay here where you could all keep an eye on me. I want to see more of Rivendell, Gandalf. It is such a beautiful place!"

The wizard chuckled at your eagerness. "I will let the others know of your intentions, only when you have already gone. I know you'd prefer to roam on your own." He casted a glance and sighed at the ever rowdy dwarves. "And I also think they won't be good company."

Beaming at Gandalf, you then took your coat and put it on. "I won't be too far. I'm afraid I'll get lost," you promised. With a finger on your lips, you tiptoed away from the group and hurried towards the dimly lit corridor.

When you were out of the room, you sighed in relief and began walking on your own pace. Everywhere you go and everywhere you looked, the architecture and landscaping caught your interest. Even the banisters and the pillars and the color of the walls and the trees and the distant trickling of water were all a beautiful sight to you.

True to your word, you didn't go too far. If there was an opportunity to just keep on going straight, you took it so that the path back to where the others were won't be too confusing to follow.

It was a long time before you reached a dead end by walking straight ahead. When you reached it, you saw a framed painting on the wall. It was a gorgeous painting and on it were five faces, one of which was familiar to you.

Lord Elrond sat on a love seat with a beautiful elleth beside him. Standing behind them were a pair of twins and in between them was a lady that you could not seem to look away from. You figured this was Lord Elrond's family.
