(Author's Notes: oh my gosh it's been foreveeeeeeeeeerrrrrr hi I'm still alive. Going strong after 2 weeks of school. I'm still sleep deprived on most days because of how my schedule is (the school follows Philippine Time and they're 6 hours ahead South Africa so there I am most days at 2 or 4 in the morning trying to be attentive). But it's great that we only meet once every week, I just have to motivate myself to study and do the activities and stuff. And I'm having fun meeting my new classmates! I hope you all are still finding some time to relax and enjoy even though school is hectic.

This is inspired by how I felt sick for the first week of classes goodness I've done it before, running on 2 or 3 hours of sleep, but when you're continuously using your brain, I just wanted to plop myself onto the floor

Hope you like it!

Warnings: none? Does this need one pls let me know, but it's all fluff tho)

How long has it been since you last slept? As an elf, being sleep deprived wasn't really a nuisance. Of course you did rest and sleep but you could go on for days before succumbing to it. But that happened on days where you don't have anything to worry about.

But as Elrond's scribe, you had to write down manuscript after manuscript. You didn't really mind doing all the work—writing was your passion and writing also served as a distraction. Even though others would think that copying documents would be tedious and tiring, the need to focus took your thoughts away from other things that were constantly buzzing in your head.

One of those things was your growing feelings for the Lord of Rivendell.

You two had been friends for a very long time, and that is why he also trusted you with handling even the most complicated and private of documents. Back then the thought of falling in love with Elrond never even crossed your mind. You were happy to be his friend, to stand by him and support him, and just be there for him.

But that changed one day.

On a day that nothing interesting really happened, nothing special occurred. No, there was absolutely nothing that could have caused for your heart to suddenly fall for the elf-lord.

It was just a day were you sat on a seat opposite Elrond's, with the both of you flipping through pages and dipping your quills into ink bottles. It was just a normal morning, with noses nearly touching the table close to the window as your hands ran across the paper.

Just a normal day.

Until you decided to look up from your work and your eyes landed on your companion who was still busy as ever with his book. Until you started to notice how his forehead creased while he worked, how he pursed his lips every now and then, how his eyes ran over paragraphs and sentences, how his hand held his quill. Until you started to notice how comforting his presence was, or how you've never felt awkward whenever you both fell into silence.

Until you started to notice that you were seeing Elrond at that moment in a different light.

Since then something stirred in your heart. You find yourself looking for him, looking forward to every moment there was that you could talk to him and stand beside him. When a day passes by that you were not able to see Elrond, you feel disappointed. You had an inkling of what this was all about, but you tried to suppress it. You were only a scribe. And people loved the idea of Elrond with the daughter of Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. Even you supported that and loved the idea too. But note the words supported and loved.
