Yes, It's Him - Father!Thranduil X Daughter!Reader, Haldir X Reader

(Requested by anon: if it’s possible, i know you try to follow the story line tolkien wrote but could you/do you do a thranduil x daughter reader imagine. I just want to see that family dynamic and how he would react to her courting another elf, aka haldir but boy those mirkwood elves are making me question that. But still i love my baby haldir and would just like some fluff.

Disclaimer: while I do like to write and follow canon (I search and read posts and articles for books I don't have and have not read) there are times I need to change things or add things, but I only add when and where I think it can be added, so it would fit the idea given to me for requests and to fit my ideas that I badly want to write. An example of this is that Mirkwood and Lothlorien barely, rarely, or had lost contact when Sauron and the Balrogs came and even before that they might have been tension between them.

There are times I break this and I allow people from Lothlorien to visit Mirkwood in my works. Also it was never mentioned that Legolas is an only child and I love to imagine he had siblings. I also read that elves pick their spouses earlier on but I still think it's nice to still ask the parents first and stuff like that. My interpretarions of the personalities of the characters are a mix of what I perceive them to be from the books and movies and my own opinions.

Thranduil narrowed his eyes.

Legolas stifled a laugh.

You grinned, fully knowing what you were getting into.

"Darling, I completely understand and I fully support you in everything that you do, considering that what you want to do is reasonable," Thranduil said, leaning forward in his seat, "but why are you the one to do the courting? And I am not against you doing the courting but I refuse to believe that no one found my daughter interesting enough to go through me and ask for my blessing!"

Legolas could no longer hold back his chuckles and laughter left his lips. Thranduil shot his son a look to which Legolas responded with a smile.

"Ada, I assure you that the ellon my dearest little sister wanted to court found her very interesting and adorable and charming," said Legolas.

With an incredulous look on his face, the Elvenking fixed his gaze on you. "Then who is this ellon you want to court, (Y/N)?"

"It is Haldir, Ada."

"Haldir?" Thranduil repeated. "Haldir, the Marchwarden of Lothlorien?"

You and Legolas nodded, with you giddily smiling at your father. Legolas on the other hand was highly amused. The King was still processing this fact and to the both of you, he looked like he was about to explode. But there was no hint of anger on his face and it made the both of you anticipate his true reaction and thoughts.

"Haldir?" Thranduil echoed once more, leaning back on his seat with an unfathomable expression on his face.

"Yes, the Haldir I met when we passed Lothlorien in our journey when I was in the fellowship," Legolas said. And you three were aware of this for Legolas recounted his travels when he returned home.
