(Requested by anon: is it possible to request an imagine for our king Thranduil where its not sad and they actually love one another. maybe she is his first queen and she doesn't die so she actually gets to take care of legolas as a baby and then they leave to the undying lands as a family? Anything as long as its happy 😊 I'll love it

Author's Notes: anooooon! I'm so sorry it took so long jwkfkwoxjw and thank you so much, yes I do put all that I can in every work I do and I'm glad you all enjoy them. Also your request was after the angst I did for Thranduil where the reader ends up Haldir because I want you guys to have fluff and be happy after going through the pain lol 💕 so if you've ever heard of the story Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, there is a song that everyone has a different way of singing it. I heard this from my dad and the song means so much more now that I'm older and now that I read more about why it was written. I shall link my take on that song. I apologize for the crappy quality of the audio and videooooo

Warnings: none, anon wants fluff after all the angst I did for Thrandy 😘)

You sat down on the rocking chair by the window, the moonlight illuminating one side of your face, an orange glow from the fireplace on the other. In your arms in a bundle of blankets, you held your son.

He let out the cutest yawn and looked up at you with half-lidded eyes. His blue orbs reminded you of your husband's and his tuft of blond hair assured you that your son would grow up just as handsome as your husband is. But you didn't know yet if he would be a natural leader like his father or if he would seek a life of adventures like you love to do.

The thought of not knowing what he'll become scared you a little bit. You feared, in some way, that your parenting skills wouldn't be enough. But at the same time it brought so much joy. The thought of being there to see him grow, the thought of being there to watch him chase his dreams made you look forward to the future.

Even though the idea of being responsible for a child made you nervous, you looked forward to every important occasion. You could not wait to see him walk, to hear him talk, to let him run around, to let him read his bedtime stories.

But for now, you enjoyed this moment where you could still hold him in your arms.

You lightly caressed his cheek. "My little Greenleaf, go to sleep," you whispered. "Would you like me to sing you a song?"

He yawned once again and you giggled. Shifting in your seat, you then wrapped the blankets tighter around him and you began to hum. When your son's eyes fluttered close, you began forming the words.

"I love you forever,

I like you for always,

As long as I'm living,

My baby you'll be..."

In the midst of your song, you then noticed someone by the doorway. You smiled at him and he mirrored your actions before walking up to you. Your husband kneeled down beside the chair and he gingerly touched your son's cheek. When he looked up at you, your heart melted at how his eyes glistened with tears.
