(Requested by a friend on Tumblr: Hi! I would love to request something with Thranduil and/or Elrond where thw reader is really goid at figure ice skating and one day theybfind her ice skating on the lake and the reader teaches them? Only if you want of course! Love youu❤

Author's Notes: Hellooooo!! Sorry this one took so long to write as well 😭😭😭 I hope it is to your liking! And love you tooooooo! When I wrote this it was too late when I realized I hadn't really added the part where reader continues to teach Thranduil/Elrond. I hope it's okay. And I hope it's okay I only wrote for Thranduil, my brain couldn't think well at the moment hnnnghhhhh

I also opted to describe the move instead rather than using the terms edge jump, hydroblade, or the spins because I don't really know much. I did try to search them and stuff and included the moves I love to see.

The title is a nod to Yuzuru Hanyu whose last name included the meaning: wing or feather 💕💕 I absolutely love how he skates! Throw all the Winnie the Pooh out there!!!!!

Warnings: none)

When Dale was restored, the people made it a tradition to ice skate when parts of the Long Lake became frozen. Of course they did so with care and always checked if the ice was thick enough for people to skate on. It was a thing that everyone enjoyed, from the children to the adults. And so the business of making ice skates also boomed.

This news, of course, reached Mirkwood, for they maintained a peaceful trade and relationship with them. And there in Mirkwood you lived. You weren't an elf and you weren't really from anywhere in Middle Earth. You were from another world and were forcefully thrown to Mirkwood. And if that wasn't enough of a problem, you were dumped in the middle of the forest near the spiders.

If it weren't for Thranduil who was hunting with his people, you would have been spider food. He took you in, cared for you when you could not find your way back to your world, and offered the caves to be your new home.

You were very grateful for Thranduil for giving you a home. Because of that you weren't really one to ask for favors or requests or ask for anything expensive. But when you learned from him that you were going to visit Dale in winter, you shyly asked if you could get skates made for you. Truth be told there was no need to be scared of what Thranduil might say because he adored you so much he would do anything in his power to give you what you asked.

Thranduil even wanted the maker of ice skates to come to Mirkwood personally ("If you need to bring his whole workshop here then carry it with you.") but you opted to go to Dale ahead instead. You knew it was important to have your skates properly fit you and make sure they were comfortable and safe to use. Albeit reluctant, Thranduil sent you off with some guards with the promise of following you soon.

He was quite curious as to why you seemed excited about all this ice skating business. But what he didn't know was back in your world, you did figure skating.

Your boots were made just in time before Thranduil reached Dale. Deciding to test them out, you did some warm up before heading off to the lake and putting on your boots. As you did, you smiled at the squeals of joy from the children who were already skating. You felt the same way—it has been a long time since you skated, and you missed being able to glide across ice and perform.

The moment you stepped on the frozen lake, it felt like going back home.

You decided to warm up again on ice. As you did so, Thranduil and Legolas arrived in Dale. Quickly they asked where you were and when they found out you were already at the lake, they chuckled and left to find you.

"Will you also be skating, Ada?" Legolas asked.

Thranduil rolled his eyes. "Oh, I had no plans to do so but if it will help (Y/N) learn, then I will," he said.

His son snorted at this. "Do you even know how to skate? You might be worse than (Y/N) if she truly does not know how to stay upright on ice."

"Well I am certainly more graceful than her and I can certainly learn faster," Thranduil answered with confidence. After all, elves were light on their feet, going as far as walking on top of snow as if they weigh nothing. "Certainly even more graceful than you."

They were going to continue bickering when Legolas stopped in his tracks. Thranduil followed his son's gaze and he found you moving across ice without any hesitation or any sign of being a beginner. You twisted and turned and even skated with one foot supporting your weight. The children who were skating earlier were looking at you in awe. There was just something so beautiful in seeing someone who has confidence slide on the frozen lake.

"She certainly knows how to skate," Legolas muttered.

Thranduil, with his pride and all, grumbled, "I bet we can catch up to her in no time."

But the King was about to regret saying anything. They watched you stop at the edge and remove your warm jacket. Thranduil was about to shout and scold you about how cold it was when you immediately went off to continue skating.

Your warm up was done.

You began to speed up and Thranduil and Legolas were afraid you'd fall or get in an accident. But you had full control. You felt free and you let out an excited laugh.

Gaining enough momentum, you then bent one knee and launched yourself up in the air, spinning a few times before landing again on one leg with the other outstretched behind you.

You also did other more complicated moves like bending one knee with one leg outstretched and the upper body leaning low and almost parallel to the ground with a hand skimming across the ice; sliding with toes pointing in opposite directions and leaning backwards; and spinning on one foot with the other leg behind you, even holding it up above your head.

The adrenaline rushing through you was a feeling you embraced. When you decided to take a break, you saw Thranduil and Legolas from afar. You smiled and waved at them, beckoning them to join you.

Legolas held a hand up and waved back, but he was gaping at what he just saw. The whole time you were doing—and this is in their opinion— "life-threatening tricks", the two elves were holding their breaths with wide eyes.

But even though they were indeed afraid you'd slip and fall, Thranduil could not take his eyes off of you because of how beautiful you danced and moved, how you looked as if you had wings whenever you jumped and spun on air.

Legolas looked at his father and said, "She is certainly better than you."

Absentmindedly, Thranduil replied, "Certainly stunning."

"So when can I expect the wedding to take place?"

Thranduil nudged Legolas with his elbow, leaving his son hunched over in pain, before walking off to join you and ask if you could teach him, hoping he could somehow feign being completely unable to stay upright so you could hold his hand.
