PLATONIC:
🍀 Immediately dubs them his favourite friend and expects them to return the favour tenfold. His friend's mail and phone are overflowing with offers to hang out on his private blimp and invitations to all sorts of elite parties. He claims that the festivities are a social affair, yet he largely spends his time talking to no one but them and warding off anyone who looks like they might approach his friend.
If they start dodging his texts and avoiding his calls when they inevitably miss an event, Gladstone is liable to miraculously appear wherever they are and say that he was hoping to run into them before using it as an opportunity to score some one-on-one time with them.
If anyone interrupts or tries to tag along, it puts him in a hideously foul mood that threatens the safety of everyone nearby. While Gladstone won't do much himself except for being passive-aggressive, he craves his friend's undivided attention more than anything, so it would be lucky for him if this irritating third wheel would stop existing.
Unfortunately, when this selfish desire is coupled with intense feelings of resentment, his luck decides a fatal intervention is the answer and goes on the warpath. Gladstone never has to raise a finger, and people will start getting into horrible accidents and having their lives fall apart.
They drop like flies simply because they incurred his jealousy for a moment or made him lose precious time with his friend. It's a tragedy he could never be punished for because Gladstone always escapes from any consequences in the end. As for the victims, it just wasn't their lucky day.
🍀 Views their other friends and family members as a threat. If there is anyone he talks about more than his friend, it's himself. Preferably, in his friend's presence so that that he can assert his perceived superiority and make everyone else in their life sound like insignificant ants.
He flaunts his prosperity and talks endlessly about all his accomplishments, fishing for his friend's praise while subtly debasing anyone who he sees as a rival. If they dare to say that they consider someone else to be their best friend or even a good friend, that is the ultimate backstabbing to Gladstone.
It's not only a huge blow to his ego, but it also makes him fear that replacement is imminent. His friend is one of the few people who tolerate him, even if they do it mostly because his luck would obliterate the city otherwise, so he is desperate to be their favourite person. Too bad his luck tries to make this desire come to fruition by removing the others in their life until he is all they have left.
ROMANTIC:
🍀 Drowns his partner in only the most extravagant gifts at the first opportunity whether they want any of it or not. It drives them more than a little mad how he seems to know everything and be everywhere at once whenever it concerns them. If they see some clothes they like but decide against buying them, it won't even be an hour later when Gladstone shows up out of the blue with half the store's merchandise in his arms, claiming that he happened to be in the neighbourhood and had a feeling they would like this.
They wake up to gifts on their doorstep with signed love letters attached every day, and every moment that they are in his presence he is showering them in adulation while probing them to see what to buy next. If they show even the slightest interest in something, Gladstone will have it hand-delivered to their home before the week is over.
His reality-defying luck has left him extremely spoiled and arrogant, so when his excessive gift-giving and wheedling fails to make his partner blindly cater to his every wish and effectively worship him, he is frustrated and accuses them of being ungrateful. He plays on any guilt they may feel and exposes their insecurities, acting like they are the manipulative one who is taking advantage of his perpetually good fortune.
🍀 Makes his partner dependent on and deeply indebted to him. No matter what the situation is, Gladstone always has the perfect solution to the problem. Their car breaks down and leaves them stranded? Within minutes, Gladstone drives up in a limousine. They find themselves hopelessly lost? Gladstone is nearby and all too willing to escort them to their destination.
He can make one phone call and get them an interview for their dream job the next day. When he takes them to dinner, it turns out to be their favourite place, and he ends up being the restaurant's 1,000th customer and wins free meals for life for both of them. Do they want to go to a certain concert? Gladstone just won two VIP tickets in sweepstakes. Do they have a vacation spot in mind? Gladstone would like nothing more than to take them there in his private blimp.
He makes all his partner's dreams come true until they forget how to live without him. Then, he starts demanding compensation. Every bit of assistance he provides is repaid by forcing his partner to isolate themselves and spend all their time with him.
Whenever they rebel, Gladstone will leave them high and dry, believing it's only a matter of time before they come crawling back. He grooms his partner to become so accustomed to getting everything handed to them on a silver platter that they will be as helpless as a child without him.
🍀 Delusional to a fault. Gladstone's luck will always feed the illusion that his partner reciprocates his affection and fuel his persistence in proving that to everyone. While his good fortune is incapable of directly manipulating their mind, it can and will make it impossible to escape from him. It doesn't matter how sophisticated or intelligent the plan is, something will always go wrong at the worst possible moment and wind up with Gladstone coming out on top.
While trying to flee, they trip or get blocked by a vehicle or bystander. If they are attempting to sneak away, he turns around or reenters the room right as they get into the most conspicuously incriminating position. In the highly unlikely event that his partner manages to put some distance between the two of them or at least hide, Gladstone will go looking for them and choose the right spot on the first try.
He views these consistent strokes of luck as proof that his partner is meant to be with him, eventually even thinking that they know this and are simply messing with him.
