There is. . . Still gore but it's minimal (Another late chapter again)
-----------------------------------------------------------
I struggled against my restrains as I remained tied up outside of the new line of tents.
I had yet again been forced back out of my first form, Another chain around my neck kept me from turning back.
Thankfully I was in my second form, Meaning I still had my wings left to shield my nakedness.
I growled quietly at the two 'normal' Homigriffs tried to approach me yet again.
They had been trying to touch me since their little 'leader' left with the rest of the men and their horses.
I had no idea why but after what had happened mere hours ago I wasn't really sure I cared to know the reasons why they were trying to touch me.
I didn't try speaking with them, It didn't help me at all with the last group so why would it help me now?
Instead, I opted to growl at them, Using the same language mere animals use, Fearful aggression.
They kept their distance.
Sadly however, When they were tying me up they ended up take the badly hurt Frog I had been protecting away from me.
Despite how much I fought, I was unable to get free or save the Frog from them.
Sighing, My limbs felt heavy not to mention, I was still so fucking sore.
I better see how much damage has been done. . .
Wincing, I moved slightly so I could examine my body a bit better, Taking account of how badly I was hurt.
I had so many bruises on so many parts of my body, All of them a sickly greenish-yellowish red color.
Looking at my wings, I found many of the feathers to be tattered and useless for now.
Guess I'm not flying away any time soon. . .
Sighing, I felt a dejected feeling start to form in my heart.
No, No, I can wallow in my emotions later, Right now I have to concentrate on surviving and finding a way to escape.
Inhaling, I held my breath for a moment before slowly exhaling, Pushing my emotions back as I exhaled.
I turned my attention back to examining my wounds.
I had partly healed scratches along my shoulders, Sides, Undersides of my legs, Hips and even some under my jaw.
I could only guess how much manhandling had to have been done to cause that.
Wincing, I moved again so I could curl my wings around me a little better, Hiding me from view even further as I reached a hand down below to see if I was bleeding still or not.
Thankfully, The tears appeared to have scabbed over by now.
I absently worried about how easy it is to get an infection down there and the fact that I had been sitting on the ground for a while now was not helping ease that worry.
I better look for herbs. . .
That thought reminded me that the scent blocker I was using would most likely be wearing off soon.
That. . . That is far more concerning than an infection
I turned my head slightly, trying to catch any amount of smell from my neck.
Eventually, I caught the bark like smell of the paste we use to cover our scent glands.
It was ever so slightly fainter than normal, But thankfully it still seemed to be covering my scent, Albeit faintly.
I looked around, Searching for the tell tale brow-ish green color of a thistleline plant.
Their tiny hair like thorns had a very painful toxin inside them, But more importantly, Their leaves had a pungent, Bitter smelling juice inside that can very easily mask a scent.
The heck? They're normally everywhere! How can there be none here?
Frowning, An idea came to me.
I subtly dug my fingers into the crabgrass covered field, Digging my fingers into the dirt under it.
The dirt was very sandy, The only thing keeping it in place was the roots of the resilient crabgrass growing every where.
Well. . . That's just great.
The area we had our home in was pretty much a jungle, Damp earth, High humidity, Perfect for growing plants.
The only problem was, I only knew the uses of the plants in the same biome as my tribe.
Looking around, I spotted more plants further away from me and the tent I was chained up outside of.
As I was distracted by looking for nearby plants that I hoped would be herbs, I didn't even notice the pain in my body, My brain too preoccupied with looking for useful plants to even be allowed to suffer in pain.
So it would be no surprise that I was startled when a severed head landed on the ground in front of me.
My feathers bristled as my wide eyes snapped up to the man on the horse.
It was the same one as before, This group's little 'leader'.
The sword he had been holding before was sheathed at his hip, More than a little bit of blood dripped down from his sword.
Looking back down at the severed head, I realized, It was the little 'leader' of the group who had attacked my tribe.
Is. . . Is this a threat? Is he saying this is what's about to happen to me??
My eyes snapped back up to the greyish-black haired man as he hopped down from his horse.
His shockingly bright golden yellow eyes were trained on me as he stepped closer.
I hissed quietly under my breath, His feathers all fluffed up and standing on end, Even the soft downy ones along and over my shoulders/shoulder blades.
He crouched down in front of me, His arms resting on his knees as he stared at me.
We both remained frozen, Staring at each other silently.
Next thing I knew, He was reaching out for me.
Striking out, I clawed his outstretched hand.
He pulled his hand back with a small grunt of pain.
I could see lines of ruby red blood starting to form on his skin.
He narrowed his eyes at me before standing up slowly.
Some of his men started to rush to his side worriedly, He waved them off however.
''I see now, If. . . He's going to be acting like an animal than he can stay outside like one until he calms down'' The 'leader' said, His voice velvety and slightly raspy.
He had paused slightly before saying 'He's', Glancing down at my groin with a slightly raised eyebrow, Making my face flushing brightly with fury and embarrassment.
I moved again so my wings were hiding my body, The angle I was at now put a bit more strain on the leather collar and chain keeping me tied here.
I'm not some damn animal.
----------------------------------------------------------
Well. . . Aldo 'took care of' the rest of the tribe that attacked Theo's tribe, Any guesses what's going to happen between those two now? (Also, Thistleline is not a real plant, It's a made up one, However, I'm pretty sure it's a type of tattoo)
Anyways! Like always, Have a good day/night and find a better book! (Or at least one that updates on time) - fallen
