Chapter 10

We moved maya's body to the hallway.
"She's alive right?" I asked Ava nervously.
Ava nodded, "I just hit her with book, she will be ok."
I called the police and told them the girl that was with Zulia came back to my apartment, barged in, and tried to fight me.
They came right away.
Maya finally started waking up once the police was standing over her.
"We need a ambulance." The officer told the second officer.
"What happened here ?" One officer asked us.
Ava spoke up , "I was fighting her because she was jumping on Storm. I was trying to help."
The officer walked over to the side, "Come over here. Let's talk privately."
I stared at them as they walked off.
The ambulance came and put Maya on a stretcher.
She was lethargic and looking around awkwardly.
"We found out that she has frequent seizures. I guess when she was hit, it brought one on."
The police officer explained as the ambulance took off.
"Her history showed up in her chart." He added.
Ava and I looked confused.
"But, she wasn't foaming at the mouth or anything." I explained holding my nose.
"Sometimes, seizures doesn't have to cause foaming at the mouth."
"Will We get charged for this ?" Ava asked with a attitude.
"No, it was self defense." The officer explained handing me a ice pack he got off the ambulance.
I held the ice pack to my nose.
"We are getting somebody to tow her car now." The other officer said walking over to her Hunda.
The officer looked inside and panicked, "Wait ! It's a baby in here !"
I gasped, "She still had Lilly in the car with her !"
I ran over to the car dropping my ice pack.
It was 80 degrees out, and humid.
She was bound to be dead.
"Why would she leave the baby in the car knowing it's hot with all the windows up ?!" Ava asked with a attitude, then folded her arms.
"Break the window !" I yelled as I hyper ventilated.
The officer ran to his car and grabbed a long black Metal stick, " move back !" He screamed at me then shattered the window opened.
"Where are her keys ?" Ava asked at last minute.
The officer looked confused , "Maybe they are still on her."
Once the officer opened the door , I jumped in and grabbed Lilly.
