Just like that, things changed again.
Charles was in jail.
Zeek didn't have his father. Again.
I haven't talked to Ava in a while. She was staying with Angel.
I barley saw her come to school, and when she did, she wouldn't talk to me.
She would be walking fast with them sunglasses on.
Turtle necks. Long sleeve shirts. She was acting so weird.
My mom got out of jail by pleading insanity.
I haven't seen her since she has been out. Word from Catherine is that she moved to Florida in a condo.
After everything that happened, I still missed her.

I found a daycare for Zeek.
Just around the corner from my house.
Government assistance took care of most of the cost, I just had to pay 75 dollars every two weeks.
Hundo was giving me the money.
He also was paying all my bills.
Phone bill, gas for my car.
He was a huge help.
Things were going smoothly.
Hundo slept on my couch.
I cooked breakfast for us every morning before I went to school.
I'll come home, do my homework, study, then go get Zeek from daycare.
Hundo would watch him while I cooked dinner.
We would smoke, eat, then go to bed.
The routine was pretty much the same everyday.

Weeks went past, I still didn't talk to Charles.
He never tried to call me.
I had Hundo put 50 dollars on my phone.
I was waiting so patiently.

In English class, I wrote a letter to him.
I asked him why he is not calling and asked him how he was doing in there.
After school, I mailed it.
I waited and waited some days for him to respond, still didn't hear from him.
Winter came around.
It was so cold.
Holidays were coming up.
But, holidays didn't feel like holidays without my mother.

I took off my mink coat and Ugh boots at the door.
School was beating my ass.
I was about to start on my homework when I noticed Hundo wasn't home.
I called his name around the house, no answer.
I tried calling his phone.
No answer.
I sat at the table and started on science work , then my doorbell rang.
I swung open the door thinking it was Hundo, and instead, it was Ava.
