That month passed incredibly fast. It was nothing but work. Nathalie and Hange with Moblit translated as many books from that library as they could. They weren’t done yet, but the publishing companies, with a little bit of help from the Reeves Company, the support of the Military and the Queen, they printed countless of copies. Electric Engineering, Explosives Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Weapons Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Virology, Genetics, Modern Architecture, Civil Engineering. These all became new branches in all of Eldian Universities.

Students were encouraged to study these all. They needed engineers. They needed doctors. They needed progress. Premier Zackly’s words were more than correct. We cannot hope to fight an enemy without matching their technology. It was estimated that in less than three years they’d have electricity on all districts and clear water flowing right through the buildings.

People -lots of people- were working tirelessly. Erwin was planning an Expedition to go out in the territory of Wall Maria, and turn all titans back into humans. Nathalie had been working tirelessly on the injections that were going to turn them back into humans. The squads were training tirelessly on how to avoid attacks from titans and sneaking behind to inject them. Of course, they tried to keep casualties to minimum, so lots of those Resurrection Serums were prepared for the Expedition too.

But for now, Hange’s and Moblit’s wedding had just arrived. All that work didn’t give them any time for any preparations, but the Reeves Company offered large amounts of meat and Nathalie got right to work. Connie, Sasha, Jean, Mikasa, Armin and Eren had offered to help with the cooking. There was no way she could do this all on her own.

That day was going to be way too busy. They started preparing the meal very early in the morning, and then they rushed back upstairs to put on the best clothes they could for the ceremony. Almost everybody was going to be there. Nathalie found Levi staring down at the rings he had bought for them. They had gone out to pick them together a few days back, since Moblit had asked Levi to be his best man.

The rings were golden and plain. Hange’s had a tiny white diamond, but Levi just couldn’t help overthinking that maybe they weren’t the exact right ones for this. Hange and Moblit would go for something crazier than this. He knew it.

“Stop overthinking it, sweetie, they’re perfect,” Nathalie caught his attention and he finally lifted his eyes off the velvet black box that he was holding in his hands.

They were in their room and Levi was sitting by the edge of the bed, ready and dressed in a suit with his ascot waiting beside him on the bed for Nathalie to tie it around his neck. He lifted his head off the rings and back up to his wife and he wished he hadn’t. She was breathtaking. Well, Nathalie had a habit of being breathtaking every day, but today she was just…

He knew she had undoubtedly bought that dress when she and Hange went out a few days back to decide on wedding dresses. It was a blood red, complimenting all of her rich curves, long enough to reach her ankles. It didn’t cling on her body waist down, but that was a full body dress. There was a v opening to her chest, but not too wide or deep to worry him about other men staring at her. The sleeves reached her elbows, and her lips were painted in that same blood red. Her shoulder-length hair were settled in waves and one of them landed on the left side of her forehead.

Levi found himself staring just a little longer than he was supposed to. Nathalie finished putting on those stud, white pearl earrings. She noticed the silence that followed and his gaze was almost burning right through her skin.

“What is it, darli- WHOAH!”

Before she even knew it, arms were tight around her, and her body tumbled and crashed down on his lap. She let out a yelp of surprise which turned into an uncontrolled series of giggles. His hand slipped away from her waist and upwards to her back. Rough pads traced her exposed shoulder blades. The perfect white skin of her back that was exposed till her waist. His Nathalie rarely put any makeup on or any fancy clothing, but when she did… oh God- when she did.
