The engineers that they had turned from titans back into humans had suggested they build a port and trainlines. It turned out, that trains were large vehicles, connected, running along a railway to transport passengers or cargo. Everything just sounded so familiar about it, and Nathalie shouldn’t be surprised. Her parents’ memories were fresh in her mind. Marley had trains too. It was important that they build their own. The constructions started in May but were paused in October when the first rains started, and the temperature started dropping.

But -for Nathalie- work never stopped. She had to figure this out. She knew that at this point, her sleeves were drenched in blood. Her handkerchiefs were all now stained in deep red. The pages of the fifth notebook were stained in red as well. Her throat burned. Sweat ran down her forehead like a waterfall. She felt cold. She was probably having a fever. She was exhausted. She didn’t know what time it was. She didn’t even know what day it was. She didn’t know what month it was.

She looked down at the blood, the notebook, the trembling cold fingers. She looked around her with a confused expression. Where am I? She didn’t recognise the place even though she had been spending every single day into that particular lab. She had been grasping onto that pencil and scribbling things into that notebook every single day. But she didn’t recognise that notebook. She didn’t recognise the contraptions around her. The glowing lights above her. The people who walked around even though she had been working with those same people every single day.

“You look like shit, Nat. You’re overdoing it again,”

It was a familiar voice but she couldn’t quite tell who that was. She turned her attention at the woman who spoke. She was wearing goggles, a yellow shirt, and black pants. Her brown messy hair were wrapped back. She stared at her with worry.

“Are you alright?” The woman asked worriedly and then she sighed. “Why am I even asking. I’ll go get you a shot, wait here,” She turned around and vanished into another room before she got to ask anything.

What’s going on? What is this place? Who is that woman? Where am I? And the most terrifying of all. Who am I? The blood on her hands and her sleeves, and those handkerchiefs on the table around her, were enough terrifying. But this? Who am I?! She was breathing heavily. Panic flooded within her before she even knew it. A trembling, utterly cold hand found her forehead and she tried to calm down and think. Think. She must have had a name. She must have had a reason for being here. In this white room filled with those familiar contraptions.

But she found nothing no matter how hard she tried to think. She tried to fumble through memories, only to find out that… she didn’t have any memories. Nathalie panicked even more. What’s happening to me?!

Why couldn’t she remember her name? It was so simple yet so difficult. Then, she felt arms slipping around her from behind, and somebody pressed a soft kiss on her temple. The touch was so, so unfamiliar. Who was that man? Why was he holding her like this? Why did he kiss her on the temple?

“Time to go home, Nat-”

Levi stopped himself when she pushed his arms away from around her waist. She stood up and fended away from him, and when he saw the full view of her blood staining her shirt, her sleeves. It was then that he noticed the drenched bloody handkerchiefs resting on the desk around her bloodstained notebook. There was blood just everywhere. It terrified him.

But what terrified him the most was that look in her eyes. Fear. It was as if she wasn’t recognising him at all. She was terrified. It was the look she’d give to those men in the Underground when they’d try to ravish her but he was always there to jump right in and protect her. She was giving him that look right now and it terrified him more than anything. And then there was that heavy breathing. Her shaking hands. Her pale skin that he was sure was so cold to the touch.
