2-12: How Good is Magic? (Spider 44 & Magic 1)

Spider 44:

Enemy spotted! Let's try out [Poison Magic LV2: Poison Shot].

Majikku: On it! And...bullseye!

Majikku lands the shot perfectly at the Monster's eye, causing much more damage via Internal damage than Contact damage.

Karada: Cool!...But it ain't dead yet?

Seems like [Poison Magic] uses its own Poison, not our [Deadly Spider Venom].

Karada: That's lame. We are better off throwing [Deadly Spider Venom] then.

Ideally, with the [Expel] Skill. Let's aim for that then while we wait for [Poison Magic] to level up enough to be useful.

Karada: I won't aim the thread at magma this time.

...We are not gaining any Proficiency for the [Expel] Skill.

Karada: Then how the heck are we supposed to get it?

Majikku: Hey! We forgot to kill our prey and it's coming this way!

Karada: Oh right! Take this [Deadly Spider Venom]!

Majikku: Wait! Let's try out [Poison Magic LV1: Poison Touch]!

Karada: Eh!? You want me to touch that scorching hot monster!?

Considering how weak [Poison Shot] is, I doubt [Poison Touch] is any better than [Deadly Poison Attack].

Majikku: Let's just try it out. No harm in doing it since [HP Auto-Recovery] can offset the damage.

Karada: Nai wa, fine. Hot hot hot hot hot! There! Are you happy?!

It does barely any damage, and we took Poison damage too.

Karada: Wow! This is worse than worthless!

Then we dodge the Monster's counterattack with ease and kill it with [Deadly Spider Venom].

Karada: So, what else do we have to test out?

Majikku: There's [Poison Magic LV3: Poison Resist].

It just increases Poison Resistance temporarily, right?

But with how high our Poison Resistance already is, aren't we better off taking Poison damage anyway to level up [Deadly Poison Resistance]? It's not like we are in any real danger of being poisoned to death.

Karada: Another useless Spell then?

Majikku: No! It could be useful in an emergency!

Calm down Majikku, but since there are no Poison-using Monsters here, it is kind of useless for now.

Karada: Not to mention the Monsters of the Upper Stratum are all small fries to us at this point.

Yeah, and like I said, [Deadly Spider Venom] might be the only way to do any real Poison damage to ourselves, which we will need to level up [Deadly Poison Resistance].

Karada: Num num num...What about the other types of Magic? Num num num...

Well, [Heretic Magic] seems pretty useless against Monsters, those Spells are probably meant for dealing with other Humans.
