It's been a few weeks since everything went down and Matteo got arrested a very tiring few weeks. We never stop, going from one place to another making sure everything is holding up. Matteo can't do anything from the inside so it's all on Danielle and Carlos now and none of them should be working this much.

That's the reason I'm here, driving Carlos around, making Danielle company. It's not exactly what I was hired to do but they need as much help as they can get. I also don't want Carlos to get carried away because I fear he will stop taking care of himself (well, more than he already is).

He has been weird with me lately and even though a part of me knows it's probably because he is overwhelmed by the situation another can't stop worrying about if it's my fault. If I shouldn't have shared what happened with Mason.

I don't really know why I told him, it just felt right. He was there when I needed someone and he listened... while he held me. I hadn't felt that safe since I was a little girl wrapped in the covers of my parents bed as they slept next to me. And it scares me, it scares me shitless that being next to him brings me that much comfort. It shouldn't be this way, he is my patient, not my friend or my lover. I crossed the line, so far that there might be no return. Meaning that whatever I'm feeling has to stop, fast.

"We are here, need help?" I park the car and turn to Carlos.

"No, don't worry." He shakes his head and opens the door to exit the car. Then he gets the crutches from the sit behind him and starts to get into the building.

Walking behind him without saying a word we finally get to the penthouse. He opens the door for me and lets me go first, still in absolute silence. Our conversations are practically nonexistent and not by lack of trying, believe me, I try. But he isn't reciprocating right now. He is just always in his office or his room working.

Closing the door once we are both inside I remove my jacket and watch as he passes next to me going for his room.

"Hey, Carlos," I call for him and he turns away to listen. "It's been a long day, do you want me to run you a bath or give you a massage?"

"That won't be necessary, thank you." He answers politely and turns around again but when he is about to stroll away I move closer and stop him, my hand on his arm.

"Are you sure? I can get the massage bed ready in a second or fill up the bathtub." I let go of his arm as soon as I finish talking.

"Mia, I'm fine. I swear." He says and gets a little closer. "Don't worry okay? Everything is fine." He smiles a little.

I know he isn't okay and that he is just saying that so I don't worry about him and he can get to work but I gave him enough time already. If I don't do something about it might be too late.

"You think I don't notice your pain? Because I know you are hurting. I can tell Carlos, it's my job to notice. And I have been waiting for you to reach out to me but you aren't so as your nurse I have to interfere." I say, my voice as calm and collected as I can get it while he is staring right through me.
