A few days later

"Carlos?" I call for him once again but there's still no answer.

Where the hell is he? This house is big but not that big and he never leaves without telling me. Not since the day he got arrested, now he always lets me know where he is going so I don't worry about him.

I have checked his room, his office, the bathrooms, every possible corner, and nothing.

"Maybe the rooftop?" I ask myself and take my bag before going towards the elevator.

It's really the only place left.

Pressing the button I wait for a few seconds and as soon as the doors open I finally see him. He is standing next to the dark brick half-walls that go all around the rooftop. Looking at the sky in front of him while talking to someone on the phone. His left hand travels from his hair to his leg, repeating the same pattern of combing his waves back in desperation and stroking his still-sore limb.

I tried to convince him of waiting a little longer to get back to using the prosthetic but he said he was okay. That he couldn't use the crutches anymore or he will go crazy. He has been working more than usual these last few days, going to his clubs, hotels, restaurants and the crutches don't allow him that much mobility range.

"Tell them that as soon as they give me the green flag I will open again," Carlos says probably to Rick, and then huffs at the reply. "Well fucking convince them, I don't care." His hand drops back down to his leg from his hair. He looks like a mess.

And I don't want to interrupt him but I have to leave to meet Mark and I can't imagine how he would react if I suddenly disappeared so I walk towards him. My steps slow but loud enough to announce I'm here.

"Well if I have to meet them myself I will fucking meet them, why is everything so difficult right now?" He says loudly and I can feel the frustration radiating from him even from afar. "Just- listen never mind I will take care of it. Yes, thank you bye." He hangs up and rests his hand against the wall. His head fell backward. "Es que no me pueden dejar en paz de una puta vez!?" He shouts into the nothingness probably still not aware that I'm here. (Can't they leave me alone for fucking once?)

"Carlos..." I say softly announcing my presence since he has definitely not heard me.

He turns around in a startle but quickly recovers when he notices it's me.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," I mutter continuing my walk towards him but stopping a few feet away.

Since that night I fell asleep in his arms crying after his confession we haven't talked much. At least not about anything important. He has been occupied.

I obviously miss him, sometimes I feel like maybe I should tell him how this is hurting me so we can fix it but when he comes home and I see how tired he looks I can't get myself to worry him with my stupid feelings. He has way more important stuff to do. Plus I have also been busy lately with the stuff of Mason's trial.
