As soon as manik said that they were stuck in his house, nandini started panicking.

Nandini: manik what will we do now? Sab humara wait kar rahe honge

Manik: nandini nandini chill....its fine we will find a way out ok?....we can....ha....we can call mukti or Abhi...yes they will help us...ya?

Nandini: Hmmm...(shouts) Noooooo!!

Manik*keeping hand on his ears*: kya why not? Aur tum yeh chilla kyu rhi ho?

Nandini*looking down, playing with her fingers*: vo mukti na Bhai ko date par leke gayi hai so we can't disturb them na afterall finally they are taking a step towards each other, towards their relationship

Manik: ya right so ab kya kare?

Nandini*beams*: lets call Cabir or navya na! What say?

Manik: aa....no!

Nandini*confused*: why?

Manik: kyuki Cabir ne bhi same plan kiya hai....a date....he wanted to surprise navya so yeah....

Nandini*sadly*: oh toh ab?

Nandini/ manik*beam looking at each other*: dhruv alia!

Nandini/manik*realise something and shout*: noooo

Manik: vo log bhi

Nandini*completing his sentence*: date par gaye hai...alia ne bataya tha

Manik*runs a hand through his hair in frustration*: Yaar sabko aaj hi date pe jana tha kya?

Nandini: aryaman! He can help right?

Manik: no he's gone to meet his friend

Nandini*cribs*: toh ab kya kare? I don't wanna spend my new year by doing absolutely nothing! Its gonna be so boring(pouts)

Manik: stop cribbing like a baby nandini, lets think of something by which we can make this interesting and memorable...what say?(looking towards her)

Nandini*excited*: yesssss! Lets do this!

Manik smiles seeing her so happy and his heart feels a kind of content seeing her smile fully with him being the reason behind it. His heart flutters at the sight while he and his mind are still unknown to his feelings. He gets busy in admiring the girl in front of him who just came like an angel and healed him, who changed his world, who lighten up everything just like a shining star does....she was his shining star, his best friend, his nandini.

Manik snapped out of his dreamland when nandini held his arm and started talking to him.

Nandini: manik lets bake a new years cake....what say?

Manik: nandini cake! Are you serious? You very well know right that I have never in my life stepped in the kitchen and making cake....(horrified) no no no....a big no. I'll totally burn my kitchen down.....I can't yaar

He nagged like a child.

Nandini*pleading with a puppy face*: manik please please please.....please pretty please with a chotu sa cherry on top....please

Manik shook his head in disbelief smilingly and finally gave in.

Manik: acha ok fine vaise bhi who can deny you when you make such cute cute faces....you are really a pro in that

Nandini: thanks! I take it as a compliment

They both looked at each other and the next moment burst out laughing.

Nandini*catching breath*: now lets go?

Manik*offering his hand*: Chalo

Nandini: no not like this....like our old days
