The leader of a powerful yet mysterious vampire organization wasn't quite what you'd had in mind for a boyfriend. But you know what you have with Tristan was real, so you don't worry much about it. No matter how busy you both are, you always find time to spend together.
One day, Tristan suggests the two of you go for a walk down at the boardwalk, knowing you love the beach. The two of you walk silently along the boardwalk for a while before Tristan asks, "Y/N, we're a good couple, aren't we?"
"Sure we are," you answer. "Why do you ask?"
He shrugs. "I was just wondering what you thought." He pauses. "Y/N, there's something I've been meaning to tell you, but I couldn't seem to find the right time."
"You can tell me now," you say. "What is it, Tristan?"
"Well, it's...I love you, Y/N. I feel like we have this connection, something I've never felt with anyone else before. You've been such a bright light in my life. I love you."
You look into those blue eyes of his, and see he is sincere.
"I love you, too, Tristan," you say, smiling at him. "We have something good here, you know."
He gives you a smile back. "I was thinking just the same."
