In afternoon, Dae-young entered Gil-joon's office. He seemed to be nervous since last night, because of being notified by his sergeant about the meeting with the Commander. He found him and Myung-joo sitting on the opposite sides of the couch around the table. On the table, there's a tray of tea cups and a teapot. She smiled at Dae-young and waved her hands at him, which looked cute.

"I'm lucky."

Dae-young didn't react anything because of his seriousness towards the Commander. He walked towards the Commander sitting, and stood firm.

"Dan-gyeol. I came to see you, sir." He saluted.

"I've been told. Sit, let's have some tea." Gil-joon spoke.

"Thank you for the offer, but I will do some other day."

Myung-joo stood silent; Gil-joon agreed with him.

"May I take this choice you have made?" He asked Dae-young while he reached for the clipboard-folder.

"What is that?" She asked.

"It's his application for discharge." He spoke and placed the clipboard on the table.

Myung-joo couldn't believe it. Her father promised not to discharge him, now he broke his promise. That is completely stupid as she thought.

"Appa..." She was totally confused.

"Ne, algaesuminda. I will quit being a soldier." Dae-young firmly confirmed.

She looked at him, then to her father with disbelief.

"Do you have to do this? Do you have to make him quit when I begged you not to?" She argued.

Gil-joon deeply sighed; he clasped his own hands together.

"She heard everything we talked about before. She put her life at stake and pleaded me while she was inches away from death. She asked if I could let you be if she gets well. She told me not to discharge you." He explained to Dae-young.

"That is...a promise made between you and her. That has nothing to do with me." Dae-young admitted.

Myung-joo was still confused at Dae-young.

"Dae-young..."

"I choose Myung-joo. If I have to sacrifice something for my choice, I'm glad to so. I will quit being a soldier." He firmly spoke.

Myung-joo stood up, now looking mad at Dae-young.

"Who told you can do that?"

Dae-young didn't say anything.

"We need to talk. Come out." She demanded with anger.

She walked past Dae-young, out from the office and closed the door. Dae-young knew that it won't be easy for their relationship.

"That's all I have to say." Dae-young spoke.

Gil-joon looked at him and nodded.

"OK."

Dae-young stuck his legs together, stood firm and saluted to the Commander.

"Dan-gyeol."

He turned away and walked out from the office.

*Outside from the building, an upset Myung-joo was waiting for Dae-young to come out and talk to him. She heard the door opened; turned and saw Dae-young walking out. She strutted towards him.
