♡ Part 35: not a priority anymore.. ♡

TO SAKURA

sasori: um sakura, i'll drop you home

naruto looked at the pinkette and the red head to realize that they went back to being friends. 

naruto: sakura...

as ino and hinata let go of sakura, he quickly hugs her. he didn't know what else to say or do and so he just hugged her silently. 

naruto: why are you leaving

they locked eyes and sakura sadly smiled

sakura: i just... um

it was clear that something happened to her but she just couldn't say it out loud. naruto caught on because he knows his best friend better than anyone else. he stepped back and nodded his head. she turned around and herself and sasori walked home together

TO NARUTO

'that teme...'

naruto and the rest headed back inside. the blonde boy looked around for his best friend and finally saw him, though with karin. he was going to charge at them but shikamaru held him back

shikamaru: wait naruto, you don't want people to know....

naruto knew exactly what he meant and so he calmed down

naruto: why would he kiss her though, it's not like he likes her y'know

shikamaru: just wait, he's coming here

they both looked to their sides to see sasuke approach them

naruto: let's go outside teme

sasuke got dragged outside by shikamaru and naruto and they stood far from temari's house so that they would have some type of privacy

naruto: why did you kiss karin

sasuke smirked

sasuke: none of your business dobe

shikamaru: sasuke, you said you found sakura. what the hell happ--

sasuke: don't mention that.... that...

naruto: she's your friend sasuke

sasuke: no she isn't. 

shikamaru looked down feeling a bit worried for the pinkette. it wasn't like sasuke to say that about sakura, especially after he said that he likes her

shikamaru: sakura left the party, weren't you going to walk her home?

sasuke looked to his side 

sasuke: i don't care

naruto grabbed sasuke's arm and squeezed it to get his attention

naruto: what do you mean you don't care, she's your friend, our friend

sasuke yanked himself off of naruto and glared at him which caught naruto and shikamaru off guard

sasuke: that girl isn't my friend

shikamaru realized his anger probably had something to do with sakura although he didn't know what could aggravate him this badly. and then, some explanations ran through shikamaru's head

shikamaru: what happened sasuke? it's related to her, right?

sasuke: to be blunt, she isn't my priority anymore

naruto: you love her sasuke!

sasuke: hmph, nice joke. 

the raven haired boy turned around

naruto: you think i'm joking?!

sasuke walked back to the party without saying another word, leaving shikamaru and naruto 

shikamaru: he's probably mad at her for something

naruto: what did she do

shikamaru: i don't know, but he's taking his anger out on--

naruto: karin...

The two of them decide to leave the party and head home. although tomorrow was saturday, which meant he was heading over to sakura's for a sleep over

TO SAKURA

they reached her doorstep and looked at each other. she looked down at her feet but he tilted her chin up

sasori: look up sakura, up.

he patted her forehead and smiled. he knocked on her door and kakashi opened it a bit surprised

kakashi: sasori

sasori: hi kakashi-sensei

the masked man looked over to sakura and notice her confused look. she walked inside after saying goodbye to sasori and and headed towards the kitchen without saying one word to kakashi. he close the door and followed her

kakashi: was the party fun?

sakura: hm yeah but...

she got herself a glass of water but once she picked it up, she accidentally dropped it and glass shattered everywhere. she gasped and kakashi quickly picked her up so that she doesn't step on some glass. she seemed a bit clumsy at the moment, or actually, more so unaware. he brought her to the couch and she sat there as she appeared to be thinking. he brought his hand to her shoulder and then sakura immediately fell to tears

kakashi: what are you thinking about

the pinkette softly explained what happened with herself and sasori and then what sasuke did. he wasn't surprised that sasori ended up winning her back but what sasuke did made no sense. from what she told him, it just seemed like a sudden move but why. 

kakashi: go freshen up and meet me back here

she nodded her head and went upstairs. he headed towards the shattered glass and started cleaning up

TO MINATO AND KUSHINA

kushina: now?

minato: i don't think it's safe to go outside right now naruto

naruto started packing his things for his sleep over at sakuras. he was planning on going now instead of tomorrow

naruto: but she needs me right now, i just know it. mom, dad please

kushina sighed knowing that her son was resistant. he did the same thing about 5 years ago when sakuras parents left her. so she knew it was important

kushina: i'll let kakashi know you're coming

naruto smiled widely and kissed his mothers and fathers cheeks

naruto: thanks

he quickly left and his parents smiled at each other

minato: they almost remind me of how close we were

kushina: sakura and naruto might even be closer than we were when we were their age y'know

TO NARUTO

naruto quickly walked to her house.

once he got there, he knocked on the door and once it opened, it revealed a sleepy kakashi

naruto: kakashi-sensei, where's sakura

kakashi: over here

he went inside and saw sakura sitting on the couch. she was already wearing her pajamas and had a little blanket on herself. to naruto, she looked really cute but he knew this wasn't the time for his feelings to come out and so he quickly brushed away his feelings and went to her

naruto: sakura-chan..

he sat down beside her and she still looked down. kakashi kissed her forehead

kakashi: goodnight sakura

kakashi knew that he should give them some privacy and so he went upstairs to his room
