TO NARUTO

naruto: there's teme...

the duo made their way to their best friend with nervous smiles plastered on their faces. the blonde placed a hand on sasuke's shoulder and made his way to lean against the locker that was beside the raven's

naruto: teme, we need to talk

the raven stayed quiet for a moment before making eye contact with his best friend

sasuke: hmph 

with that, the trio made their way outside and to the back of the school. the three of them leaned against the wall of the school and shikamaru started off with a sigh

shikamaru: you're mad at sakura, aren't you?

sasuke: yeah...

his answer was plain but both shikamaru and naruto could feel the cold tone from his words

naruto: look teme, i didn't know you two had plans after school. i'm sorry y'know

the blonde boy stared down to his ankle as he held onto his crutch slightly tighter

naruto: i didn't think it would've gone this far

sasuke: when i came to you both, she still went along with you. and when you found out, you still didn't do anything

a bitter taste reached sasuke

sasuke: it was a big decision

naruto: and i'm sorry---

sasuke: i'm not mad at you, just sakura

naruto: why?

the blonde boy stared at his best friend in disappointment. shikamaru stared at the two of them and felt the air stop in it's place

naruto: she was just helping me, her best friend. it's not a big deal to be so mad at her----

sasuke: dobe, why are you defending her?

naruto: because she didn't do anything wrong!

something inside of naruto snapped which caused shikamaru to flinch and sasuke to eye him

naruto: ever heard of the saying 'friends before lovers'? that's what she was doing. you don't see how much she worries and cares for you teme!

a hint of jealousy could be heard through his words

naruto: the one time she decides to finally spend time with me, you get mad at her. teme, she cares about you--

sasuke: i've been trying to change myself for her! i was so....hotheaded and cocky that i don't recognize myself when i remember how i used to be...

naruto's anger slightly shifted away once he heard his best friend's confession.

sasuke: i've been changing to be better for her, for us. i did everything to make her happy and i finally am able to....damn

naruto's brow twitched

sasuke: the one time that i need  her, the time where i wanted her there for me--

naruto: teme....

sasuke: ---she went with you

the guilt in the blonde boys stomach went crazy. he knew that sasuke had been changing for the better since he started dating sakura---- although he didn't know that it was this much of a big deal. and then, he remembered his kiss with sakura on new years eve. 

he shook his head in disappointment in himself and his actions. he's known sasuke since they were little kids but failed to see how important this was to him. not only that, but it was true that sasuke was always there for sakura when she needed him. but the one time he needed her, she wasn't there
