NEXT DAY (January 22nd)

TO JIRAIYA

he could have sworn that the earth must've flipped sides if this were to happen.

jiraiya: i said i needed new and separate poems from your last ones. i don't think i need to repeat myself, but even if i did i'm sure you wouldn't listen to me anyways

he sighed.

jiraiya: what's your reasoning, and it better be good because you disturbed me from writing my new book

sasuke: you shouldn't be writing those books at school, hmph

sakura chuckled to sasuke's blunt retort, causing sasuke to smirk and jiraiya to shake his head in disappointment

jiraiya: your sensei kakashi seems to enjoy my books, so i'll put all my spare time to make them great.

sakura: you're not on your spare time, you're at school. get the memo jiraiya sensei

this time sasuke chuckled and sakura crossed her arms with a smirk smearing on her lips. the duo currently stood in the hall in front of their language class with their sensei peering down to them with a pout. their class had jiraiya at the moment and the two of them knew of the fact that they had to present new poems to the class for the anthology that they were going to make─ although neither sasuke nor sakura would accept such a request

sakura: we can't write new poems and i'll say this again, we didn't write our poems together. we just so happened to write the same thing, and that can happen between people who are very close

the tall white haired man tapped his foot onto the floor as he narrowed his eyes from her confession. when he glanced towards the raven, he noticed that he seemed as unfazed as usual─ except there was a slight change in his demeanor.

jiraiya: explain to me why you refuse to write me new poems?

sakura: becau─

sasuke: because we can't change our feelings, sensei. you told us to write about something dear to us, so we did. our feelings matched up and that's why we wrote the same thing, hmph

things started to click for jiraiya, but he was enjoying the fact that sasuke was actually talking for once so he decided to drag this situation longer. with a cocked brow and lopsided grin, the old man chuckled and brought a finger to his chin

jiraiya: seems to me that you two have something in mind, yeah? i'll tell you this, i still can't give your poems a solid mark because they violate my standards, however i can arrange something different. you don't have to change your poems and i guess i can allow that, but you still need to write me something new.

curiosity nipped at both sasuke and sakura's skins as they poised themselves before their teacher.

jiraiya: the two of you seem to have the same feelings and mindset towards hockey, so how about the two of you write a poem together. that way, i won't make the two of you change your feelings and i'll have something to give you two marks on. i'll be honest here, your poems were my favourite because they expressed true feelings. so, how about it?

it was almost as if everything was falling into place for sakura and sasuke. the glanced at each other for a moment before giving firm nods

sasu/saku: right.

jiraiya smiled.

jiraiya: i'll give you the weekend to write me a new poem, so i expect it to be great. do you remember when i said the winning poem will be the first page of the anthology? well, that will be your new poem so make it good. and yes, perverted context is allowed
